Just remember, whatever happens, there is always tomorrow, and you do not know what tomorrow has for you.. tomorrow could be the best day of your life... and if it is not, remember, there is always the next day..

Shhhh... you are not wasting your young life. I understand what you have said, because when I was a teenager, I had a very rough time as well. A major factor is probably chemical, as your hormones are attempting to get on some sort of normalcy after puberty. I never had a deep pain inside me; are you still covered by your parents' health insurance, if they have any? I hope so, because it would be best if you could speak to a doctor. You WILL get out of the place you're at in life. What you may need is a tiny bit of motivation to start something, and perhaps what you could start is an exercise program, if you don't already have an exercise program. You need endorphins, young one! :o) Exercise will give you those, and those will make you happy. It's a proven fact. The best kind of exercise for someone like you who may not really feel like exercising is a little walk around the neighborbood. You'll probably hear the birds and see some children playing and laughing, and those are good things to see when you've been sad for such a long time. If you do decide to go on a walk, pick the nicest place you can. I have no idea where you live; if you live in a large city, find a pretty park. But as you walk, do not look at the sidewalk or grass (unless the sun is in your eyes!!) - look at people and their faces. Look at plants or clouds, and you will eventually see that you are a part of something good. I will be thinking of you.

oh honey, you and I are in the same boat... sounds like you have a bit of depression. have you been diagnosed/are you on any medication? You need an outlet STAT! Try something physical-- that always helps me burn away emotional pain, and when I'm done, i can more clearly assess what the initial issue was. (I'm a pretty avid jogger/gym-goer--and I find it to be a godsend) Otherwise, try something creative. Drawing/painting, singing, writing poems or short stories. And/OR find a close confidante in whom you can place complete judgment-free trust, and just VENT. I'm here if you need that too, as I can DEFINITELY empathize!

Try Jesus. Also, you say you're 18, and you feel like you've been looking for something for years. Relax a little bit. You are still young. Just a sugestion, but try talking to a priest.

sounds like a mild case of depression.
===========================
Depression may be described as feeling sad, blue, unhappy, miserable, or down in the dumps. Most of us feel this way at one time or another for short periods. But true clinical depression is a mood disorder in which feelings of sadness, loss, anger, or frustration interfere with everyday life for an extended time.
See also depression in the elderly and adolescent depression.
Alternative Names:
Blues; Discouragement; Gloom; Mood changes; Sadness; Melancholy
Considerations:
Depression is generally ranked in terms of severity -- mild, moderate, or severe. The degree of your depression, which your doctor can determine, influences how you are treated. Symptoms of depression include:
* Trouble sleeping or excessive sleeping
* A dramatic change in appetite, often with weight gain or loss
* Fatigue and lack of energy
* Feelings of worthlessness, self-hate, and inappropriate guilt
* Extreme difficulty concentrating
* Agitation, restlessness, and irritability
* Inactivity and withdrawal from usual activities
* Feelings of hopelessness and helplessness
* Recurring thoughts of death or suicide
Low self esteem is common with depression. So are sudden bursts of anger and lack of pleasure from activities that normally make you happy, including sex.
Depressed children may not have the classic symptoms of adult depression. Watch especially for changes in school performance, sleep, and behavior. If you wonder whether your child might be depressed, it's worth bringing to a doctor's attention.
The main types of depression include:
* Major depression -- five or more symptoms listed above must be present for at least 2 weeks, but major depression tends to continue for at least 6 months. (Depression is classified as minor depression if less than five depressive symptoms are present for at least 2 weeks.)
* Dysthymia -- a chronic, generally milder form of depression but lasts longer -- usually as long as two years.
* Atypical depression -- depression accompanied by unusual symptoms, such as hallucinations (for example, hearing voices that are not really there) or delusions (irrational thoughts).
