We went to those that advertise all the time and they first quoted us a real low price. But then when you actually speak to a person and they start asking you all kinds of stupid questions like do you own pets and things like that, their rates ended up being HIGHER.

I have and currently am insured through a company that i found over the internet...
When you are getting a quote, make sure you are honest with the questionare...
What most ppl dont realize is that when the company runs your licesnce it shows all your infractions and the amount of time you have been driving.. Its also shows every time you are pulled over by the police..
They can also search the insurance data base and find out if you have had insurance, if its been cancelled, missed payments, ect.
This a major factor in your insurance premium.
this is why many ppl temd to get lower quotes then what they are expected to pay. Then on top of it nothing in life is free, you have to pay a comission to the company that you got the quote from usally 10 to 20 % of the quote. you also have the intrest that is charged by the company based on your payments.. ( you pay monthly you pay more, if payed out in one sum you normally dont have any intrest) insurance is like a lone from that company ..
when factured in your quote doesnt intale all this normally..
You will find most of the time the quote is between 10 to 25 % lower then the amount you are paying out ...
I hope this helps

I haven't had much luck with sites that claim to compare companies/prices. But I did get a fairly accurate and free quote from Geico online, and when I signed up for a policy, the actual premium turned out to be better than the initial quote! Those cheesy commercials are right... :)

1. You can go to an independent agent as he is not tied in with just one insurance company for a quote.
2. Check with friends and family and then call their agent's to get a quote.
3. Determine which company will provide the best coverage for your dollar.

Just like stated by "pooterilgatto" if you bundle home owners and multiple vehicles along with life insurance you will get a package discount. Also consider the age of your vehicle and your total annual income in determining what deductible and limits of coverage you wish to have on your policy.

Do your homework and you will come to the best insurance company for you and your family.

I have gotten many quotes always too high. or even double what I currently have. All car insurance companies want to package all your insurance needs , like home ins etc in order to give a better price. Will try Geico next, I like their commercial with the little Geico green Lizard they ought to give him a name. They often forget to give you the promised gift for getting a quote. not very good for their business

an excellent kind of those are sent via vehicle responder centers that have long gone wacky .... except they have an choose out approach interior the e-mail itself, there is fairly little you're able to do different than mark them as 'unsolicited mail'. in case you have not have been given a 'bulk' / 'unsolicited mail' folder set up, that's recommended to attain this. Then a minimum of the well-known public of those will fall off into that... some will nonetheless discover their way on your in field besides. that's a nusiance and interior the US, sending unsolicited e mail blasts are unlawful, yet because of the fact of this maximum vehicle responder communities use out of u . s . centers..... ~jennifer

That's my experience, too. The rating programs are too simple to actually give you an accurate quote. It's kinda a major waste of time, but meanwhile, you give them your phone number and a salesman calls, wasting your time even further . . .

Do your research online, get all the name and numbers you need, then spend sometime to call them. That's the most accurate quote I got.
