i am CHRISTIAN I don't see it as flaunting.
i didnt know being Christian went hand in hand w/ everything people see as ignorant.
If youre gay, hold hands, im straight and i enjoy holding my husbands hand, people should hold hands it feels nice, gay or straight, none of my business.
I think some Christians justify getting up in everybody elses business by saying :"oh, i only care about their salvation, i must spread the gospel, what if no one ever tells them thats wrong, and they burn in hell?"
i say we're big boys and girls, we can make our own decisions!!!!

Hhhmmm, reading over the answers, I see a lot of lame excuses. I'm not sure why they feel so offended. It's like that "if the gays get married our "sacred unions" are ruined" thing... which is so silly. I don't have a problem seeing anyone holding hands with another. I don't care to see them practically having sex... but that goes for both homosexuals and heterosexuals (and both sides do it). The only thing I can come up with is that Homosexuals is the new Hate Group. You didn't see this sort of thing till our Gov't made a huge issue out of it (at the request of the Right Wing who supports Bush). I wonder if they thing that if they stop homosexuality that Nothing bad will ever happen again.
I guess it's true... simple minds can only handle simple things. Anything else makes them angry.

Because Christians are institutionally homophobic and they can't even admit it, frankly they disgust me!
Research shows that male homosexuality is a normal human variation.
"Sexual orientation begins with a myriad intertwining influences — some genetic, some hormonal and gestational, some the product of cultural conditioning.
The mix for any individual is impossible to unpick. No one acquainted with the science can still believe that homosexuality is a choice or a disorder. It is part of normal human variation, just like traits such as height or intelligence to which genes and the environment both contribute."

Excellent question. I always hear Christians talk about how gays are trying to "shove it down our throat" (no pun, presumably, intended. What does this really mean? It seems that a gay person in public is "flaunting it."
Enough's enough. I don't get all bent out of shape when someone tries to hand me a Jesus tract on the subway.

screw the christians.. just let gay people be gay.. damn
I have a GF.. and i'm guilty of massive Public Displays of affection all the time. we are always cuddling and holding hands when we walk around and i know it buggs people but life is to fvcking short for me to give a fvck about how other people see my relationship(not like we're making out in public, cuz that would be rude). Anyway, I hope the gays have that attitude too and if christians don't like it they can jump in front of a bus.

It's hard to explain. Christians have a fierce hatred of homosexuals and I have no idea why. I don't believe many Christians would approve of a white-black relationship either. The church is backwards in a few ways and it needs time to get focused in the 21st century. As for me, if you hold hands with someone you love, no matter who it is, it's fine. Hold hands. Don't be afraid to show the world your love.

God didnt creat two men but a men and a women. And that is on the 6th day of the universe being created. A men getting along with a men is unnatural and the fact is every human wants to always be the opposite sex regardless of which sex he is from. But all of them have that willing ness to accept what they are born except for few like gays and lesbians. Who are gays and lesbians by choice and not by chance.

Because of ignorance. I would like to note though, that as a Christian with gay family members and friends, it's not Christianity that brings the problem, it is ignorance.
Christianity in itself, if you look at the bible, is about a loving relationship with others.
Ignorance is the problem.

Homosexuals argue that they did not make a conscious decision to be that way, so it must be natural. They are born that way—just as all of us are born with a sin nature and sinful desires (Ephesians 2:1– ). Tell them that it is natural for them, and for all of us, to be tempted to do things that God says are wrong. In the same way, pedophiles and adulterers (alcoholics, drug addicts, etc.) don’t make a conscious decision to "choose" that self-destructive lifestyle, they simply give in to their sinful desires. However, although sin is natural for unbelievers, that doesn’t mean God wants them to remain that way. God can set them free from their sinful nature (Romans 7:23–8:2), give them new desires (Ephesians 4:22–24), and help them withstand temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13).

you shouldnt stereotype Christians. Jesus loves everyone gay or straight, even though what someone does is wrong doesnt mean we shouldnt treat them w/ respect and love them. In the Bible Jesus said the most important commandments are love God with all you heart, all your soul, and all your mind. And the 2nd is love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. So true Christians love everyone, even though they dont agree w/ their lifestyle.
