It sounds like you may not be getting enough fibre in your diet. My Dr. advised me that the average person does not always get enough fibre in their diet. I had tremendous pain in my stomach and I know from personal experience that IBS is not fun. My diet has improved immensely and my gut pain is gone away for the most part. I very rarely have it any more. The odd day. Add some bran to your cereal, bran muffins, whole wheat bread, water, salad alone is not enough. Personally, I eat smaller portions and feel just as full. A sandwich size plate is what I use. I can always go back for a tidbit more but I usually don't. Exercise will help with your bowel movements, esp. sit ups & leg raises. It sounds like you may need the help of your family physician or a visit to the E.R. if things don't get moving. Pardon the pun.

Yes, but regular fiber in your diet also helps tremendously. It not only helps to regulate your bowel movements, but helps in preventing loose bowel movements as well.

Exercise does help. But here's another idea: Drink lots of water (500cc recomended) when you wake up in the morning.

Yes it does. Your body needs movement to help push out all the waste from your body and when you exercise you are stimulating it to do its job.
