Yes blind faith in any form of religion is a bad thing. Many children are brought up to be close minded because they follow the religion of their parents. My parents decided to let me be open minded and learn on my own. I feel this leads to enlightenment which is superior to any blind faith. The spiritual growth that happens when there is no blind faith definately helps by providing a chance to believe what the individual feels in their heart and directly commune with the higher power. I kinow many bible nuts think it is blasphemy to believe that a normal person can commune with the higher power but i know it is not because if you open your mind and your heart you can feel the truth. I follow no religion but i feel the presence of the higher power and no religion that i have found has been totally accurate.
The blind faith in religion causes a hatred among men of many religions. This causes wars. It is the root of all problems in the world. The inhibiting factor of religion that stops effective communications and rational compromises

Faith and Blind faith are two different things. No body should have blind faith as that can expose them to false teaching. Same thing for the secular world. how many really know anything about the big bang theory or macro evolution? Not many, thats blind faith also. It just happens to be blind faith in a secular theory.

hmm, well I am not sure that blind faith is a good thing. However, faith is essential. You cannot just pick something and say that since you believe it, it is true. You have to make sure that what you believe in stands up.
I for instance am always thinking things through. I believe that Jesus is my savior and Lord. There are lots of things I don't understand but nothing that can be proven wrong, in my opinion.

no... I have absolute faith in Jesus Christ . While some try to challenge my faith I stick with it. I believe that thru all the trials I am made stronger. I do not feel it is destructive at all. I am a better person because of it.

My Faith as one of The Christian Faith, is absolute regarding the Truth of my Salvation. I have God's personal Word to me on that.
That dose not mean I wll jump out of a perfectly good airplane at 3000 feet with out a parachute. Or close my eyes and walk accross I70
Blind faith can indeed be dangerous. and indeed stunt spiritual growth.
NOT TO MENTION GETTING YOU FLATTENED

Absolutely. However, I became a Christian by actually doing research about the topic and deciding for myself that this is the way I wanted to live.
Besides, like anyone's impartial anyway. The heart of this question lies in the fact that EVERYONE has axioms or presumptions (called a "worldview") that affect the way they interpret facts.

I can't see how blind faith could ever be anything but destructive. What good could ever come of it?

Faith is required as a Christian, but after you are saved and go to church, often you can feel the presents of the Lord and know He is real.
