i was at camp this weekend, and when i took my camera out of the tent, in my backpack, in its case, in the middle of a bunch of clothes, i find out that its broken....
and it would cost TOO much to repair ti.
when i told my dad what happened, he got mad and told me im not repsonsible enough to get a new camera, even though photography is my FAVORITEthing to do!!!
i dont know what happened to it,but hes blaming me. and now i dont know what to do
how am i gonna live without a camera?
how cani prove to him im responsible?

Take a step back from the situation and see if that is consistent with his normal reactions to problems if it is not, perhaps asking what is happening in his life will help. It may be that he found out that he has to repair/replace something that cost alot of money and he doesn't have the money to do it. If the camera was a gift you are out of luck, you should never ask someone to replace a gift that had been used, its bad manners. If you bought it, save up and buy another one and ask your parents if it can be included in their homeowners insurance so that it can be protected. wile you are saving up why not start using disposable camera? they take really good pictures and they will help you with composition of your photos as you can't delete shots like you can with a digital

Well...you have just proved your not responsible. You broke the camera, it did not break itself. And the fact that you don't even know how it happend is worse, but it has to be fault in some way, shape or form.
As said, you might want to get a camera with your own money.

Do you get an allowance? Try working more around the house or doing odd jobs for others to earn more money, babysitting would bring in some money now that it is summer.
Check the newspaper for estate sales for cameras for sale, or Pawn shops, maybe even the camera shop would have a model that would be cheaper for you to purchase. Or they might do a trade in, even though yours isn't in good working condition, they still might give you something toward a new one.

I think that you step away from the camera for amintue and show him you are responsible in many other ways. Then he might say you disvere a nother camera.

Save up your allowance and birthday and christmas monitary gifts. You will survive just fine. Why did you take an expensive camera to camp in the first place. It could have been stolen.

Offer to pay for your new camera,do chores or whetever to raise the money,by doing this you will show your father you are responsible and learn how to take care of something that you bought with your own money,Good luck God bless:O)

Just let your dad cool off for a while. He will come back around, and be his old self again. If he can't afford the same one. Then go to the store and get a cheap one.

It kind of sounds like a "knee-jerk" reaction. If photography is really that important to you, I doubt that he'll deny you of your hobby for a long time--provided that you do not have a history of irresponsibility. Good luck.
