There are actually quite a few medications for ADHD.
Stimulants, such as Ritalin, Concerta, Metadate CD, Dexedrine, and Adderall
Atomoxetine (Strattera), an approved nonstimulant medication for children, teens, and adults with ADHD.
The following medications are sometimes tried if symptoms persist after initial treatment with one of the above medications. These medications are usually not used in younger children.
Antihypertensives, such as Catapres and Tenex, which may be used to treat aggression and impulsivity not controlled by ADHD medications
Antidepressants, such as bupropion (for example, Wellbutrin)
Adderall can be addicting. Physical and psychological dependence may occur with the use of this medication, and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use.

Well first you should contact your doctor and express your concerns. ADHD is not something that you should look outside of the medical profession for. There are other meds that can be taken such as Concerta, Rittalin, and Straterra.I have never noticed side effects in my son but everybody is different. If you are unable to get a solution for your ADHD then you should research it on the net to find a doctor that can assist you? Some people need a combination of meds to take care of business.

I think that Stratera makes an extended release formula for adults. There are going to be side affects with any medication. I don't think that Adderall is made for people over the age of 18.
