Priceline.com is the best. Plus if you book ahead of your departure date you can name your own price! Example my friend is taking his wife and kids to Hawaii this fall got online with Priceline tickets were priced @ $800.00 per ticket, so we put in a bid for $350.00 they excepted it at $367.55 that incl. tax. Best source you can see all airlines fares, departures layovers. And if you want a hotel and rental car it has the icons to click on for that too.

Trust in a local travel agent instead of buying them online. I saved a ton of money using a travel agent booking a few months in advance for my trip to Italy versus the online ticket agencies. It costs you nothing to use their services or only a small fee added onto the ticket price which is still generally cheaper than online.

At the airport, go to the desk and tell them you want to go Standby ie. take someones seat who doesn't show up for the flight. You can go everywhere for peanuts. Almost always someone doesn't show up for the flight.
