God always has been and always will be. He is who was, who is, and who is to come. This may seem hard to understand, but that's because humans can't understand the concept of eternity.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." John 1:1-3
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8
Revelation 22:13
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."
I hope that this helped you some.

God
Simply He is eternal, outside of time.
The supreme being of the universe. He is the creator of all things (Isaiah 44:24). He alone is God (Isaiah 45:21,22; 46:9; 47:8). There have never been any Gods before Him nor will there be any after Him (Isaiah 43:10). God is God from all eternity (Psalm 90:2). In Exodus 3:14, God revealed His name to His people. The name commonly known in English is Jehovah. This comes from the four Hebrew consonants that spell the name of God. (See Tetragrammaton.)
God is a Trinity, knows all things (1 John 3:20), can do all things (Jer. 32:17,27 - except those things against His nature like lie, break His word, cheat, steal, etc.), and is everywhere all the time (Psalm 119:7-12).

God was created in the minds of early man to help to explain the world around them. Some gods and religions have died and been born over the years, this is because man has to create new religions and interpretations on religions to suit the questions they ask and provide the answers they seek. God was created in the mind, which since the mind evolved from single celled organisms which evolved from an inhospitable planet which evolved from space dust and the collisions of antimatter and matter, god evolved from nothing and everything at the same time. But that is a streach because the minds of early man could have come up with the explanation of the world came from dirt or rocks and today that is what we would turn to for our answers.

God(s) was/were created by early humans to explain those inexplicable things like lightening, the rising Sun, the Moon, etc. As science evolved so did the concept of God(s)...into today's systems based upon belief in a God that punishes and rewards. Funny, sounds like our Legal System...Nah,lol, God is used by religion/humanity as a means of CONTROL or an EXCUSE. Bottom line have faith in yourself and live respecting others and the environment and you'll be fine.

That's something we will never know for sure. If you ask a christian they will tell you that's what faith is all about but...and this is just my opinion...there are so many things that don't make sense...so many contradictions. I was brought up in a christian household but as an adult I don't feel I can buy into al of that anymore. I have my own belief system which doesn't really go with any religon but it's still mine. You know? I think at the end of the day you really just have to know what you believe in and then do it with all of your heart. Sorry...guess I got a bit off subject.

God is outside of the bounds of time, because God created time. As a result of being outside of time there is no beginning and there is no end. Therefore, God has always been and always will be.

you know what? I asked the same question on this site last week and did not get very many good answers but.... I guess the only real way to know this answer is to wait till we pass on and ask god ourself. It seems soo confusing because if god made us then who made god? I guess just have faith and maybe even try praying more for the answer. because only god himself can give you the right answer on this.

No offense at all. I think humans created God.
Which is easier--to propose an eternal God or an eternal universe (yes including what came before the Big Bang and whatever is out beyond the universe)? At least we know that the universe exists.

its kinda like eternity, humans can't figure it out. Im not saying 2 ask a parrot, though, even though parrots rule. We'll probably find out on the day of judgement. I'm a Muslim, so I might have some slightly different views than u guys.

God has always been. Our finite minds will NEVER understand this, but it is true. "He is the Alpha and Omega, the begginning and the end." It is useless to struggle over that, it will only cause a headache!
