Once your debt has gone to collections, you have to contact the collections company in order to get resolution for the account.
Look at your recent notices from the collections company, and find out how to contact them.
Or you can look at your credit report and see the name of the company that currently has your debt.

Get your 3 free credit reports at www.annualcreditreports.com. It will list whoever owns the debt, if it is less than 7 years since you were supposed to make a payment.

The Associates was purchased by Citicorp in 2001. You may be able to get some help through Citi. Try http://www.citicards.com

If the debt collector has sent you a notice then the address or phone number should be on there.
