My daughters are 14 months apart. Although it was a bit hard when both were in diapers, etc., I would not change the experience for anything. They are now 9 and 10, and I have very rarely seen siblings as close as they are - its awesome!

I believe drs advise a minimum of 18 months. . . Not that it's totally bad, for I have friends that have kids that are closer in age than 18 months.
Personally, I think that about 2 years is good. They are close enough in age to have common interests, but spaced far enough apart to be individauls and have individual friends. I like the thought of having one kid out of diapers before having another, too.

my son and daughter are four years apart and its been great she would call him her baby she was a big help and they are still close enough in age at 9 and 5 to play well together. Of course with any siblings they do argue sometimes but you will have that with sibling relationship. I am nine years older then my sister and I hated it that was way to old for mom to bring home another baby

I don't have more than one child yet, but my sister and I were 2 years apart and it seemed to be a good age gap. She was driving when I was learning. She was starting high school when I was starting Jr. High. She was graduating when I was starting high school...you get the point. Anyway, my husband is 20 months older than his brother and they don't get along as well. Hope that helps a little...

My kids are three years apart. They are close in age enough to enjoy playing together, and were far enough apart that I didn't feel overwhelmed with meeting each one's needs.

Mine are 17 months apart. I have found it to be a blessing. My kids were in diapers together, bottles together, sippy cups and finally potty training together and it encouraged my younger to do things sooner. It has been wonderful. My experience with them would make me want to repeat it if I ever had another child.

Well, there is really no perfect age difference (to me) that works for everyone. Mine are 5 yrs, 2 yrs, and 6 months. My older two are boys, and they get along so perfectly, but they are loud!!!! Always wrestling, running, screaming, hitting, arguing over toys....etc. My little girl is 6 mo's and my 2 yr old you would think would be rough but as long as you tell and show them how to treat an infant they actually do really well. I was impressed with my 2 yr old, b/c no matter how rough he is with his big brother, when it comes to his little sister he is so gentle and loving. He gives her kisses and hugs, and rubs her cheek, awww it's so adorable. You will love it!

I think 2 years is good. Besides the fact that the children get the attention they deserve, ur body gets time to heal itself fully from the pregnancy/labour process.
