Maybe because they think they can impress someone somehow? Maybe it's the same reason why girls try to dumb themselves down to seem more attractive, as if intelligence is a turn-off. Free-thinking is not sexy!!

well its kinda fun to act dumb but not all the time. theres a time to act dumb and goof off and theres a time to act serious. not all guys act dumb all the time.
