When I was really frustrated and wanted to induce my labor I drank teaspoons of balsamic vinegar, had sex, stimulated my nipples and pressed some accupuncture points on my wrists and ankles...it worked well because I was 4 cm dilated before I went into labor which really helped my labor go much faster. I don't know how proven any of the meathods are but I was willing to try anything...good luck!

I am hoping you are at least 38 weeks plus one day. This won't work if the baby isn't ready to come.

No earlier than 5 PM, start this process. The measurements are metric because this is a European process, but you can convert them to imperial measurements using an online calculator.

Combine:

30 ml mineral oil
50 ml schnapps
200 ml whipping cream
220 ml apricot juice (not nectar)

Wait until 1 hour after dinner.

Drink 1/3 of the mixture and take a 20-30 minute walk with your partner. Do not go alone.

One hour later, drink the second 1/3, take a warm bath for 20-30 minutes and go to the toilet. Try to empty yourself out.

One hour after the second dose, drink the remaining one third and go to bed. Contractions will usually start in the night.

Do not attempt this if you are under 38 weeks or live more that 30 minutes from the hospital. It won't work if you are less than 38 weeks and, if it does work, it could happen very fast.

Good luck.

my nurse midwife suggested that I drink raspberry tea (the kind with raspberry leaves). You can get it at the supermarket - Raspberry Zinger was the kind I used. It helps make the contractions more efficient. I brewed it, then added ice for iced tea. Three days after I started drinking it, labor started; my son was born the next morning (10 days before his due date).
Good luck and God bless. My husband was in Iraq when our first child was a baby, so I sympathize. It is very hard for you as the parent ( and for him) but the good part was that he had no knowledge of what was going on, and of course does not remember it.

I went walking a lot!!

I went walking with some friends, with my husband, shopping (for baby stuff!! What fun!!), and anything that put me on my feet.

Gravity helps with the baby dropping, and the pressure of the head will cause dialation and effacing (is that a word??).

I don't know what else to do - doctors tell you the only one that knows when the baby is really coming is the baby.

Two things that my mother in law suggested. She has been a midwife for 26 years and has 7 kids of her own. Take a big ol' spoonful of Caster Oil..yuck...but she swears by it. Also, stimulate your nipple. Pull and squeeze them for about 15 minutes 3-4 times a day. I read that in "What to Expect When Your Expecting"...do it your self labor induction. Im pregnant. Due next week. Wish I was dialated... : (
Oh, yeah, with my 1st baby, I tried everything. It didnt work, so dont bother...hot baths, hot showers, sex, jumping up and down...blah blah..I was 3 weeks overdue too.

Whoa- relax sweetie. Your body will do the right thing. When would your estimated (natural) birth-date be? Many times scheduled c/s are too early- so dont push it too much!

Take some deep breaths and imagine your cervix melting away and opening, while doing this, hold you mouth in an "O" formation and let noise out- softly , in a moaning way. Invite your husband to caress you- sensuously, as you imagine your uterus pulsing and your cervix melting away. Sit somewhat reclined, listening to music, and do this exercise as much as you can. Remember to breath, visualize, give your body permission to bring your baby through birth, and allow your husband to influence your oxytocin with stimulation, (breast particulary) also, sperm has prostoglandin in it- a natural labor inducer. Believe in your mother nature!

Well, I know it is different for all pregnancies. As for myself, I took a warm shower, had lite sex with my fiancee and then walked at a brisk pace on out treaclimber. I fell into labor within a few hours. Good luck and congrats on your new little one

I'm not trying to be funny, have you tried sex? orgasm makes you contract, also some say that sperm can induce labor. Otherwise lots of walking. Good luck!

Try sitting over a chair with your legs as wide apart as possible and rotate your hips around and around with your back as straight as poss. If you have a birthing ball this will be even better.

Do this every 30mins for 5 mins and take hot baths as often as you can.

Good luck. x
