My son turned 12 months this week, and about two weeks ago, he started waking at 5am, lightly fussing/cooing, etc. I don't know why. We also put our kids down at about 8:30pm. I put dark curtains on his window b/c I thought he was waking b/c of the sunrise - didn't work. I started just leaving him in there. He's got his blankie, two stuffed animals, a crib toy, a pull toy that vibrates. He usually plays for a while and falls back to sleep. I didn't get up with him until 7am. This week, he's sleeping until 7:30, praise the Lord! So, go figure. Don't get up with your ds or he'll make 5am his wake up time. Let him fuss for a while and get used to waking later. It will take a few days though. GL!

My younger son just turned one yesterday, and he's been off the bottle since he was 11 months old. EXCEPT for that wee-hours-of-the-morning bottle, just like your son. :) I've tried everything, but if he doesn't get one, he gets REALLY cranked up and wakes his brother up. This isn't an every night occurrence though...he usually only wakes up 2 or 3 nights a week. I'm just waiting it out, hoping that eventually he'll stop waking up for bottles altogether. I have noticed though that on the nights I give him a cup of milk right before bed, he generally sleeps through until his standard 7 a.m. without waking up...

13 months is a little too soon for most kids. Can he hold a cup without spilling it? Give the kid a break, he finds the comfort in the bottle at 13 Months...Let him have it he is not going to want a bottle forever.

My son too, started waking up in the middle of the night for a bottle, instead of the bottle I gave him a pacifier (which he did'n want during the day) he would suck on it thinking it was the bottle and kept sleeping, I did it for a few days and he stopped asking for the bottle. Now he sleep trought the night.

How he sleeps is normal, and don't try to wean him from the bottle completely, 13 months is still pretty young.

that's what we do, my son is 15 months. i'm getting him very drowsy both by utilizing rocking or merely snuggling on the sofa, then I lay him in his crib. If he fusses, I rub his abdomen or back, relying on how he comes to a decision he will sleep, and tell him its ok. As he starts to nod off, I back faraway from the crib a pair steps. If he wakes, I enable him comprehend i'm there yet that he desires to flow nighttime nighttime. gradually this procedure takes a lot less and a lot less time and there'll be a lot less and a lot less tears. Its no longer fairly the cry it out technique and it type of feels to artwork for us. If he cries for better than a pair minutes, I many times %. him up and love on him, yet I enable him cry somewhat and love on him, yet i do not %. him up many times. strong success

Try giving him a snack just before bed, he might be waking up hungry. Also, when he wakes up wanting the bottle just give him water in it, he may be mad at first, but if you stick with it eventually he'll either not want it.

If that is the only bottle he's demanding, I'd just give it to him and see if he outgrows it. My bet is that he will outgrow it on hisi own. I used to be really strict and by the book with my first, but after a few you loosen up a bit :-)

Just stop giving him the bottle, and he will get over it eventually.
