There's no way to unite the world to fight against these things, nor does it sound like a good idea to even try to do something that is hopeless from the outset.
If it ever does happen, it won't be religion that brings it about. Religion is the cause of many of these problems.

Africa has has problems for as far back as I can remember. As a child I remember watching the starving children in Ethiopia at the same time they were showing starving children in Romania. I don't see the starving children in Romania on TV anymore. I saw starving children in Ethiopia before Saddam was gassing his people. I don't see Saddam gassing people anymore. There are plenty of ways to fix the problems. We just don't have enough people willing to try them.

If people would the following a bit more:
- being charitable
- being less racist
- more accepting
- time and attention on their kids. Focus on their education and their needs
- more environmentally responsible
- take the to vote for your leaders
- stand up for what they believe in
the world would be a better place.
