When my baby was a newborn he stretched his legs and they quiver or shake involuntarily, he also did that when he was in my womb. I asked the doctor and she said it's normal for newborns to shake or quiver like that because their muscles are not yet well developed. Your baby is probably just stretching. But ask your doctor on your next visit.

My daughter, she's 3, will do that from time to time, especially if she wakes up suddenly from a bad dream. But she has done it when she wasn't having a bad dream, too. I also have seen a couple of the toddlers I keep in my home day care do that when they wake up. You're right, nothing is wrong and it's over very quickly, I think it's just something they do occasionally.

Mine do that all the time. As soon as my 2 yr old wakes up he wants to get up and run around. But sometimes he does it too fast and he starts shaking. It's totally normal, it's only b/c their mind is fast than their little bodies! They will be just fine.

Yes, my 19 month old and my 4 year old both do the same if they are woken too quickly.
Its a mix of being startled and your body trying to catch on at the same time.

Perfectly normal.

Yes... almost seizure like. I used to work in a day care and there was a little boy that woke up that on a semi-daily basis.
