Obviously you don't take your kid to Toys R Us. If you did you would find that you beat your child more there.

More importantly, why do you feel a need to ask this question.

Sounds like you need parenting classes. YOUR Children are spoiled and the only way that you will get them what they want is if they scream and cry.... Solution to question...Do not take kids to Wal mart or K mart... and quit beating them and quit giving in when you are in a place like that. Ignore them and let them scream or take them to the car. Give them what they don't want. Also tell them that if they scream that you will take every toy out of their room then make your kids help you do it. If you have two kids and they have separate rooms just tell them that you are going to let them in each others room (alone). That really works if you have a child that is 3 or 4 and the other is 9 or 10. Children really hate it when big or little sibling goes in their room and bothers things.

Mainly, ignore them when they are acting up... only pay attention to them when they are being good. It also sounds like you need to spend more quality time with your children...

Because some of the worst parenting happens at Wal-Mart and those places and your child sees it and tries to see if they can get away with it like the brats there. I shop at Wal-Mart so I am not trying to say that only bad parents or brats go there but you know what I mean. They want to test the limits when they see other children behaving inappropriately and you just have to teach them not too.

Why don't you tell me which Wal-mart you go to, and when your next trip is planned? I'm sure that we can come to a reasonable conclusion to your beating your child!! Tell me what you look like too! I have some friends that would like to meet you also!!!

Because public forums like that are irresistable to a childs mischevious nature and you are already frustrated by the crowds and the prices and you take it out on them. Next time, rather than beat your kid, leave the store with them. Leave your cart parked in the middle of the aisle, grab their hand and march them out the door. Believe it or not, that will make a bigger impression on them than all the other forms of discipline. It means NOBODY gets ANYTHING no matter how much they whine and cry. Personally, I hate shopping with kids.

Wal-Mart has a poisonous atmosphere. I know I want to slap at least one of their employees every time I go in there.

Because kids lose their freaking minds in Wal-Mart. Of course, I do, too.

The walmart/kmart atmosphere simply lends itself to the beating of children. I mean, really, who among us can resist its allure? I know I can't.

Just as walking on the beach in the moonlight with a girl or boyfriend leads to romantic feelings, just as being in church leads to thoughts of god and the afterlife, being in walmart makes you want to smack your kid to the ground.

And always remember, "A man never stands so tall as when he stoops to hit a child". Words to live by.
