Some peole feel the need to start a question in an intentially rude manner. They start out purposely insulting others who do believe. I don't think it's neccesary to be rude on purpose. Let's try to be friendly and civil. I know we can't all agree as that would make this an exercise in futility.

Those of us who do believe should practice the same courtesy to those who do not believe as we do.

Inadequacy. If I make you smaller I look bigger. People that do that truly do have a very limited faith in anything outside themselves. In action they are playing god themselves.

Bravo. I believe this was best said in the Bible - 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with compassion and respect.

I completely agree with you. I guess there are a lot of reasons, jealousy and ignorance just to name 2! I also think some people post a rude question just to get attention. They want to stir things up and love the reaction they create. So its up to 'friendly' people not to sink to their level and refrain from insulting back!!

Its not need its amusement. Not all beliefs deserve respect. For example, if you espouse Nazi ideas should I respect that?
And , since many religious beliefs are just plain insane and/or disgusting--like the ritual cannibalism practiced by Christians, aka communion--why suppose that I should respect such gross things.

You have the freedom to believe. I respect that freedom. BUT, do not assume that your beliefs are free from scrutiny, reason, and logic.

Probably because they want to be 100% positive their god/s are the only ones and higher then who belive otherwise. The people probably like feeling powerful and that their race is of the highest class and all else are insufficant ex. Holocust

That's a nice thought Debra M. I will do my best to adhere to your wish. Have a nice day.

Edit: I love how the "believers" still try to poke fun here. They are very diligent. I can definitely give them that.

it can be a perfectly necessary tactic (as well as a source of great amusement) when believers try and shove their radical beliefs down the throats of others who have no interest in adopting their (the radicals) religion.
