Well its good to give a cleaning, maybe find anything dirty that can get worse, like a spiders web or something. Also, you will give it a new house smell :). To decorate.. you can just pick a style. Find some blinds that will go on you window, and paint it so it matches with the blinds. Find bedding with a nice contrast if you have a bed. Like: (not saying you should, just exp: White wall, blue curtain, with a green bedding. Just an example.. Put some light into the room too, something that gives it all around light. 1 window isnt enough. good luck

You never know how clean the previous tenants were. Hubby and I washed everything down with Lysol cleaning solution to kill germs and get rid of mold spores. It smelled better after we were done. Try looking on HGTV.com to see bedroom ideas. For good rest, the sleep experts recommend that you paint it in soothing colors (usually blue or green), keep the dresser tops clutter- free, and have very minimal decorations to help your mind ease into rest at night. Candles are nice, and a soft reading light by the bed is wonderful. I just re-did my room in tan walls with a leopard print bed set and dust ruffle. Brought in a few hand drums, and a couple of plants, plus mounted an attractive candle holder on the wall. Putting the bed in a corner instead of flat on the wall is a nice touch, too. Especially if you put a large plant behind it for effect.

My room is also very small. Rather than trying to cram all sorts of decorative things into the room, I've hung a tapestry with warm colors/ a paisley middle-eastern design that kind of pulls together all of the colors I use in my bedding and storage units. It's an easy way to bring color and a cozy feeling to a tiny room. Also, put up a valance in a similar color instead of curtains since natural light will open the room up for you. Hanging a sheer cloth (light color(s)) in plumes on your ceiling will create a softness (a heavenly feel!)
A clean home - with everything in it's place- will feel instantly remodeled ;)

do not do all of that, just use a mr. clean sponge and wash down the walls, windex the windows, wipe down all the tables, if you want to decorate you room, i would say a light blue dooframe and windowsill, thenlike some other color that goes nice with babyblue. baby blue is a happy color even on your worst days when you walkin you will be happy

Decorate your room in cute bright colors. Then go to Kmart and buy a Joe Boxer bed set they have them in cute bright colors. Buy everything to match. Buy a cute rug for the floor, buy matching pictures, and candles to have around the room. Buy matching bean bag chairs to put on the floor in your room (for when friends come to visit), buy a lava lamp (sold at Walmart or Target or Spencers Gifts). Get bright colored curtains to match your bedding.
