I'm running for 30min and then walking 15min for a total of 45min. Then I do about 20 sit-ups

HOw much weight do you think or know that I can lose in a month. I'm trying to weight 160-170. I stand at 5'10

Breakfast: I drink soy milk, a banana or apple
Snacks: I mainly eat a fruit or two
Lunch: I eat tuna with a noddle soup or a chicken salad
Dinner: Mainly fish or oven cooked chicken (take off the fat)

Your body can "adjust" to exercise. Instead of walking for fifteen and running for thirty, try doing interval training where you jog for x minutes, and then sprint for y minutes. Constantly switching back and forth between the two paces keeps your body working hard at guessing what it will do next. You should also be able to do way more than twenty sit-ups- if you're working out a gym ask the trainer to show you how to do crunches with your back supported on an exercise ball. This really helps develop the muscles at the side of your abs too, because you're working hard to remain stable.

From what I can see, you're getting one or two servings of fruit and vegetables daily and no whole grains. You're going to need to add more food to your diet to make sure that you don't get malnourished, and also so that your body doesn't go into starvation mode and hoard every calorie that you take in. Try this eating plan:

Breakfast: Kashi Go Lean cereal with soy milk and fresh berries or a banana
Snacks: Natural peanut butter on a slice of whole grain toast, or some mixed nuts and seeds, or some plain yogurt with a little honey
Lunch: HOME-MADE vegetable soup or a salad with mixed greens, toasted seeds and olive oil
Dinner: Fish or chicken with brown rice and mixed steam vegetables

Try not to lose more than 3 lbs a week, five max.
Once you are comfortable with the routine, add to it.
Using weights (strength resistance) exercises really help boost the metabolism.
Congratulations on starting a new program, the hardest is to start.
btw: I'd avoid the banana - they metabolise rapidly into sugar in the body
You might want to look up glycemic index on the net.

According to health specialists. It's not a good idea to lose more than 2 pounds a week. so no more than 8 pounds a month.

with the right plan, I think you can do it in 2 months. the one I used is called Shapeworks, I lost 95 lbs in 8 months. And I did no excercise, since you are excercising, you may lose faster. Check out this webiste: www.loseweightnow.com/tfward
