a few days (no longer) of bacitracin (about the same time you should avoid working up a sweat in the gym), then A&D for a few, then Neutrogena or something completely non-allergenic and fragrance free - don't scrub it, pick it, get it in the sun, the ocean, or the gym. Don't apply too much of any lotion - it still has to breathe, don't use anything containing aluminum, don't keep the bandage on too long, and it is best to wash and pat the area dry gently and separately in the shower, preferably with a mild anti-bacterial. Also, many are allergic to the lotions, particularly A&D, so test it out first - generally inner arms are similarly sensitive. almost always it'll scab, that's just the body healing - if you lose the color anyway, it was probably the tattooist, not you; it is rare, but some people also have a reaction to the ink, usually red or green.

A&D ointment is awesome - and much cheaper than the ointments made explicitly for tattoos. Don't get into a pool or hottub for about 2 weeks, stay out of the sun, and don't scratch at it!!
DON'T use Neosporin!!

Scabbing will happen - it's an open wound! DON'T pick the scab or you will pick the color right out of the tattoo.

USE A&D OINTMEN...IT WILL SCAB BUT LEAVE IT ALONE, DO NOT GET IT WET IF YOU DO SHOWER THEN GET A WAL-MART BAG OR SOMETHING AND GET YOU SOME DUCK TAPE AND INCLOSE IT REAL WELL.. WHEN YOU GET OUT TAKE IT ALL OFF AND DAB WITH A TOWEL.. DO NOT RUB ON IT OR SCRATCH IT.. GIVE IT ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND IT WILL BE GOOD AS NEW!!
