this is my serious question.... I know it's out there but I just need a little feedback, I love her, and the only time I see her smile and be actually happy is when we are together.

I had a roomate in college that was in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship. You can't force someone to get out of it. It's a choice they have to make for themselves. Until she becomes strong enough to realize that he can't hurt her, or that if he does it's HIS fault and there will be serious consequences, there's nothing anyone else can do. Obviously she's not happy in her current relationship if she's skirtin around with you on the side, but it may take her a while to develop the strength to walk away. Just be there for her and show her that she deserves more.

Okay. Been here, done this.

Make sure she isn't doing anything to make him think he has a chance. She shouldn't be talking to him or doing anything like that. Also, you need to talk to him. Let him know he needs to back off and if he doesn't you'll take care of it.

Don't threaten him because it'll just piss him off. If he threatens you and you think he will do something, tell the police. You pay taxes for a police force, you might as well use it.

Eventually, he will back off. But, it takes months, if not years.

I've been with my girlfriend for 9 months now and she left someone she was dating for 3½ years for me. He didn't take it to well, but I let him know that I wasn't going to take any crap for him, and he backed down.

It'll work out...love has its way.

She has to help herself. If she wants to get away from him, she has to stay away from him. It's pretty simple. If she's scared she can get an order of protection against him, if she calls the cops and files a report.
I don't think she really wants to leave him, or she wouldn't be going back to him. Really, it doesn't make sense for her to do that if she wants to be with you. Do you go to places your afraid of? Do you go visit people you don't want to be around? Do you purposely put yourself in dangerous situations? Get real man.
