well, for starters adam married his own rib, his children would have married each other, yes. who would they have reported it to? there was no law then and also no disease as the climate was much different, accounting for no bacteria or viruses (those are part of the post flood era and the curse).
genetics do show that we all come from the same mother (who lived somehwere in africa, probably the mesopotamian region known as "the cradle of life") that scientists have called "eve".

The Bible should not be taken literally. Rather figuratively. The passages in the Bible (Old Testament anyway) are stories to help shape you into being a better person on this Earth. A guide to reaching Heaven when you die. Noah didnt build an boat, and if he did, he certainly didnt get two of every animal on it. But sacrifice to save lives of others is a good deed. They are childrens stories for grown ups. Adam and Eve may have existed, but they were not the only two God created. Adam and Eve had a few children, of which one of them tried, and I think, suceeded in killing on of the others. So he was sent somewhere by God, and he got married. Who is this person that all of a sudden appears in the Bible. If Cain and Able were the two decendents of Adam and Eve, where did this other person come from. So again, just stories. But they have a true meaning. The meaning of life and how to live it.

As we read in Genesis the story of Adam and Eve it is followed by the story of Cain and Able. It speaks of Cain finding a wife after he is out of the presence of God. It is not very clear in this aspect, but I believe that is because most of the old testament was originally just orally passed down from generation to generation. Also it may be because this is not a crucial detail, but just something that keeps us from focusing on the bigger picture God has painted for us. I hope the helps, God Bless.
I would just like to add a quick thought. I heard someone post that incest isn't really a sin. Well as God had Mosses speak to the people incest is a sin it is written in Leviticus along with the rest of the laws handed down from God to Moses to give to the people.

Yes, Adam and Eve's children committed incest. It was necessary to continue the species. It wasn't a sin for that very purpose. Later on it became convenient to marry a distant cousin, so on and so forth until people were so distanced that blood relations weren't necessary.
It's like breeding any mammal, if you keep using the same blood line you will end up with an eventual breakdown that will start producing genetic blunders.
Did you know that when the Israelites were enslaved by the Egyptians that they were all blood related? It's true. The lines were thin but reading back in Genesis it tells you who started the Egyptian line and he was an original Hebrew.

Islam believe that Adam and Eve are real and they are our ancestors..
Adam was also the first prophet and was well respected by every living creature in and outside this world.
And no they do not commit any incested generation as that's the only way human could be reproduce. At the time, humans are taught slowly with the rights and wrongs and from experience we've learned that the practice was no more appropriate..

If you believe that God made Adam and Eve first and foremost before all other humans, and you read further in the bible Second cousins and third cousins got together and probably before that their had to be incest to start out the human race.
If you think about it then everyone is related and you are really related to your husband or friend, and in general everyone in one way, or another.
Pretty sick if you really think about it, huh.
If you don't believe in the bible story and Adam and Eve then somewhere along the way a Ape or monkey had to have had sex with a neanderthal , or we are apes that just kind of adapted and grew and got smarter kind of like the animals that are water born and slowly grow into land animals.
It is definitely going to be neat to see all the answers you get for that question.

It depends on who you ask. Some people take the bible literally. It think this was an ancient story to explain where people came from before we knew science. I think Cain & Able where supposed to be Adam & Eve's children.
The story of Adam & Eve is also a way to explain where sin came from - since they ate from the Tree of Knowledge even though God said not to.

You are correct, Adam and Eve were the first people, therefore everyone since them have Adam and Eve as their source.
We see incest from a twenty-first century perspective. When God first created human beings....of course they had to interbreed.
God did not make sexual relations between people from the same family taboo until the Levitical laws. I know it's hard to understand from our modern perspective....but that is how what the bible explains to us.

All the races were created on the 6th day creation. Adam and Eve were created on th 8th day of creation. God noticed that he had not made a farmer, so, he made Adam and Eve.
Jesus came through the genealogy of Adam and Eve.
The laws of incest were not given by God at that time, They came later.

Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters. The genetic lineage of Adam and Eve was perfect so marrying a sister wasn't going to cause birth defects. It wasn't until much later, during the time of Moses, that incest was forbidden as the genetic pool became less and less able to stand interbreeding. "‘No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the LORD," (Lev. 18:6).

If you believe in Catholicism and Christianity, then yes they're real.. I personally don't believe they're real... Adam and Eve had 2 sons.. So how could the rest of the world evolve from them?? Unless the guys kept impregnating their mom and wife... Which is incest... Which would've made the rest of the babies retarded and deformed??I would prefer not to think that all our ancestors are retarded and deformed.. I think we evolved from apes... The Adam and Eve story, just doesn't make any sense to me..
