Electronic Engineering is concerned with ‘small scale’ systems; microelectronics, digital communications systems, computer and internet technologies. Electrical Engineering, on the other hand, encompasses ‘large scale’ systems, namely the generation, transmission, distribution, utilisation and control of electrical power and renewable energy

Electrical Engineering is the general term for an engineer that specializes in the uses of electricity. He may further specialize in Electronic Engineering which implies that his field of expertise in in such electronic circuits as you might find in TV sets, cellular phones, computers, etc. But there are many other fields in Electrical Engineering, for example, Power. In this field you are mainly concerned about the generation and distribution of electrical energy. I have a Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering but my field of expertise is in Solid State Physics (the branch of physics that explains how transistors work, for example).
