Zoroastrianism (Parsiism)
Founded in Persia around 1200-1600 BC by the prophet Zoroaster (Zarathustra), Zoroastrianism is the world's oldest continuing monotheistic religion. Some scholars believe that Zoroastrian doctrines - those of heaven and hell, the struggle of good versus evil, and a redeeming messiah- have deeply influenced the Jewish and Christian religions.
(Interesting how Christianity in particular was influenced by this belief..It really takes away some of the validity doesn't it?)

Hinduism, the world's oldest existent religion, contains some definitely monotheistic ideas. The pantheistic concept of the Brahman is obviously quite monotheistic despite the existence of devas and asuras in that, it combines all in the Brahman. There is of course Atenism, popularized by Pharaoh Akhenaten and there is also Zoroastrianism, with the deity Ahura Mazda. Judaism is of course also there.

It's possibly Zoroastrianism. Although the Hindus might be able to make a claim, since they outdate Zoroastrianism and worship many Gods that are aspects of one God. They could make a good case for being monotheistic if Christian trinitarians can be seen as monotheistic.

Maybe Zoroastrianism?

Zoroastrianism is one of the world's oldest monotheistic religions.

It was founded by the prophet Zoroaster in ancient Iran approximately 3500 years ago.

There is some debate over which came first, Judaism (as founded by Abraham) or Zoroastrianism. There is some difficulty in dating Abraham, with some scholars placing him as early as 1700 BCE and others as late as 1500 BCE, coming as far as 100 years before or after. I don't think it really matters though, in the same way that it doesn't really matter whether Newton or Leibnitz formalized calculus.

Christianity came approximately 1500 years after Abraham, from where it borrowed ideas from paganism and Judaism, among others. Christianity is not really monotheism, in that god is divided. Islam has ancient roots though it truly began with the prophecy of Mohammed, in 610 CE. The Muslim calendar dates from the year 622.

Well, I'd say Atenism, the religion started in Egypt by pharoah Ahkenaten. When the Hebrews left Egypt about 100 years later, they were monotheistic. When they went in to Egypt, they were likely polytheistic (Abraham and his family worshipped idols). The Judeo-christian ban on worshipping other gods came with Moses.

If you read some writings of Ahkenaten about the Aten and the god Ra-Horus (the god was Ra-Horus, the Aten was the symbol-the sun disc), there are many paralleles in Proverbs and Song of Solomon.
