Adobe Photoshop is the best. Corel Photo Paint is almost as good. I like using Adobe Photoshop in combination with CorelDraw in my graphic design business. Adobe Illustrator is almost as good as CorelDraw for a draw program. They are all great fun when working with photos....but spendy.

Photoshop CS2 is the best on the market to date. Adobe has been producing the industry standard in graphic design software for quite some time.
Macromedia Fireworks (now Adobe Fireworks) is still quite good. You can achieve a lot of basic and novice effects in it for producing a pleasing image.
Microsoft Picture... forget it, just throw it away.

If your serious about getting into photo editing on the computer, Adobe Photoshop is definitely the way to go. If you just need to get basic things done (ie. contract, red-eye, ect.) go with a cheap photo program from Office Depot or something. What I would do is try to get a trial version of something to try it out, or some how acquire a student version of Photoshop.

Hi, I've heard that adobe photo shop is a good image editing program. However, I'm using print shop- which I got from Boderbound for like 5$, and I find it has a lot in it. Moreover, I got a program that came with my digital camera, Ulead photo express- which I find to be an excellent image editing program.

this is incorrect to modify an image of someone (commonly a woman) to strengthen it to a common it really is universally commonplace as 'alluring' yet is in reality fake. the images created are commonly of an no longer accessible body or skin that seems plastic by using the indisputable fact that is so faultless. human beings pass on about how the more youthful generations are inspired by the media yet they do no longer have a decision - no remember the position you pass there is an image of a 'desirable' lady - no matter if or not this is contained in the window of a underclothes keep, on a body spray ad, in a clothing keep, even food market classified ads! they're everywhere. yet as human beings we'd want to manage to inspect an image and verify out for ourselves no matter if that is fake or no longer. we'd want to comprehend no matter if a persons' skin has been airbrushed or no matter if a pair of boobs were stronger. i imagine that if organizations let us know that their pictures were altered then that makes it ok yet in very reality they ought to not favor to modify what someone feels like purely to promote a product. And we because the wide-spread public shouldn't inspect such pictures as something to stride to and objective for.

Adobe Photoshop is probably one of the best, though it's a little pricey. I myself have tried Paint Shop Pro 8 and it works fine if you're on a budget. Though I've tried both programs and they both have their pros and cons, of course Adobe is better, but if you're on a budget PSP works just as good.
