My faith though strong is very personal and I hate to see it dragged through the mud by someone who can't understand. I guess you'll never be able to have the emotion of Love for anyone. You won't be able to pull it from your pocket and examine it. So it would be just and fake as you believe Christianity to be.. You can't see the evidence for faith God has given us, fine, don't believe. I respect your right to believe what you will. You can even tell me about your faith. It's a bit harder to believe but I would listen. If I understand a charge for lightening struck a pool id non biologic material and it became a living protein. I have seen the production in the lad of a primordial soup that most non Christians believe was the first "life".. Funny thing is when the charge is removed, Still in the same toxic atmosphere the soup slide back into the water and disappears.. No matter I think I have a better Story and I stick with it.. I pray that you find the Way before you have to report on the actions of this life..

While I don't side with the Christians, I do try to understand them sometimes, and since everyone else in my family is one, I have a little insight into this I think.
Because, to have a belief like this requires 'faith'. If a person must choose this faith, they cannot just go halfway and say maybe or if or whatever; they must truly believe it all the way, or not believe it. Yes, some of them do come off as know-it-alls, but there are those kind in any belief system, even athiests.

Alright, you do have a point. Lets look at the belief system you hold. You are holding this as an absolute: that it is impossible for Christians (or anyone) to be right in the assumption that there are absolutes. It seems to me that the belief in the absence of truth only verifies the fact that something must be true. I believe in this absolute: that Christianity is true. We both hold an absolute. We both think that the other is wrong. Please show as much respect to me as I do you.

If we don’t accept that there are possibilities outside our inherent beliefs, then we are ignorant to them and therefore accept that we have a mind closed to these possibilities. If we can’t have discussions about our thoughts and beliefs without resulting in a circular argument or an end statement leaving out the realm of all possibilities, then we must accept the fact that our minds are shutting out the possibilities otherwise. Any statement must be made with absolute proof and must be able to endure all criticism before it can be worthy enough to be a belief, and even then it may not be absolutely certain.

I agree. That is why I do not belong to any particular religion, because none are KNOWN as the absolute truth. Yet another reason why I love the Buddhists. They except the possibility of that other people could be right as well and do not persecute you for believing in something different.

I suppose, you think that your beliefs are the absolute truth.
Personally by the standard of answers "Christians" give in this forum, compared to what the Bible defines as a follower of Christ,
there are very few Christians here. But when someone such as yourself goes forth not to seek honest answers, but to seek something to ridicule, this site is full of easy targets.Enjoy the mockery while you can, eventually all those who ridicule and mock things will reap their reward.
God Bless, and have a nice day.
Sidepoint: Absolut is an overpriced/mediocre vodka.

The Christians are wrong. MY beliefs are the absolute truth.
People just don't get absolutes. It doesn't matter what the absolute truth is (assuming there is one) because we'll never agree on it anyway. And even if we were all capable of seeing the same absolute truth, we would intentionally pervert it and lie about it to further our own agendas.

Don't generalise. I'm a Christian and I'd be the first to tell you it is up to you to find what your truth is. What's important is that you take the time to explore this. If you end up an athiest I'd think no less of you than if you ended up a Christian. In the end, you need to decide. The only thing other people should do is try to help you explore this.

Hey, I just walked in, but no problem. You're welcome. Anytime. No...that's mean. JWDT. You've got to realize that many people have had SUPERNATURAL experiences that solidify what they believe. They cannot explain WHY ENOUGH to you. We can argue all day, but when you truly have a PERSONAL understanding based on SPIRITUAL experiences God has shared with you, then I can only explain so far. Perhaps you err in choosing the word "truth." By its very meaning it requires a loyalty and a singleness of mind that I believe you think negates every other possibility. That is exactly the point of TRUTH. Peace.

Sometimes we are going to have to admit that one religion is the truth, when a christain says there religion is all they are being a bit arrogant I would say, but the thing is every church and w/e could say that if they all followed the New Testement of the Bible if not than they are truly lost.
