She's recently been reconnected to the internet and since then she and my bf have been chatting non stop. When I'm with him all he speaks about is her, wondering what she's doing, telling me how she understands things I couldn't. This girl told him she loved him a few months back, but retracted her statement claiming she was pressured to say it by her friend. He's had a crush on her before he met me and they grew up together. Their families are close and tease them that they'll end up married one day.
Am I just paranoid?

Well to twll you the honest truth I am a man and therefore I will be able to tell you what it means if he has another girl he is interrested then there is nothing you can do but let him go he will never be happy unless he had a chance to be with her otherwise hed stop having feelings for her a long time ago and then you wouldnt be asking not saying it will be easy to do but for the best it will definetly be this way you can move on there are plenty more guys where he came from you just have to look in the right places and you will find them there

You may be just paranoid, or jealous? BUT... the chatting non-stop thing is a little extreme. My wife would not put up with it. Sounds like you need to lay down some ground rules, if he does not go along with them and slack off on the non-stop chatting, then your fears are real.

I will tell u to be very careful bc the key to a long lasting relationship is a good friendship. Me n my husband where friends for !yr but he had girlfriend n I had boyfriends but we got to know each others true ways n connected on a deeper level so when we where both single we knew it was time to date bc we already connected. So if u really like him try to become more of his friend n understand him the way she has grown to understand him n he wont have any need to talk to her.

no your not paranoid! anything you feel needs to be checked on because alot of times that's your heart saying hello- red flag here, slow down. etc......i don't know i guess you need to make sure he is what you really want. is he a good help mate, freind,ect....he is not over her, which is understandable too, but not right for him to bring you in a relationship with him while he has deep connection with another or he may not have had them but he started 2 talk 2 her again and they box of memerie lane opened up but yet he just likes her b/c she is comfortable?! you can't keep asking them the Q you need to ask your self if you want or need him in the front row of your life. does he encorage you and up lift you. you'll keep runing your mind into this same issue of "them" and it is very hard to get out of that mind set. So i guess its different strokes for diff folks but i would rather him be with her, because if he wanted to be with you he wouldn't be distracted by her this much!

Not if it was my boyfriend. There is no such animal as emotional connection, deep or otherwise that doesn't eventually lead to physical attraction, in fact that usually comes first. Love in itself is a deep emotional connection, isn't it? Or have things changed since I was younger...

Sorry. But you are probably not paranoid. My best guy friend and I always got told that we would end up together eventually... and lo and behold... we are. I don't mean to scare you, but I figured you needed honesty rather than some fairy tale dream.

Most times situations like this end up in a break up but if u try to get to no her then maybe u will see what they both have in common so that it wont seem as if he is cheating on u!! Trust I have been in a situation like this!! If he loves u he wont cheat on you !!

If it was only the chatting then I'd tell you no worries. But he talks about her and wonders what she's doing? Girlfriend..that doesnt sound too good.
