Do you know how small a tornado is compared to a hurricane? sure tornados are strong and unpredictable. but hurricanes destroy so much more. if you turn on the sixO clock news in the summer, you aren't gonna hear much about tornados destroying cities. Hurricanes can last to a week, while tornadoes last to less than a few hours. it's pretty hard to run away from a hurricane.

Hurricanes can be devastating but generally, they are fairly predictable and there is time to prepare and evacuate. Though I have never experienced, nor am I too familiar with tornados, what I do know of them causes me much more anxiety than a hurricane. It seems there is little to no warning, and they are a lot less predictable as far as pattern and path. I, too, used to have nightmares about tornados and the thought of being in an area prone to tornados is pretty scary to me.

I've never actually experienced a tornado, but i Do have nightmares about them all the time. A hurricane to me doesn't sound as bad a hurricane. A hurricane can't lift u up and carry u away and you know when it's coming. a tornado is way more spontaneous, which makes it way scarier.

Fortunately where I live we are not subject to either but when I lived In Nova Scotia we did experience Hurricane Juan and although Tornados are very violent they are sustained for a very short time span whereas Hurricanes can last through a complete day and the destruction is more widespread.

in Alberta we are more worried about tornadoes. In Calgary, however, i am constantly worried about the next hail storm. All the tornadoes that happen in this province seem to bypass the city for some reason. I checked environment Canada and was not able to find a tornado in the city for the past 100 years. Everywhere else in the province gets hit but not here, it's strange.

Tornadoes because there is so little warning before they hit. At least with a hurricane you have time to prepare not only physically but mentally.

Tornadoes, because I have little chance of being caught in a hurricane.

I am more scared of tornadoes, because I grew up primarily in the state of Oklahoma and I had been in one, kind of in my elementary school, we had to hide in the basement of the school and wait till the tornado passed overhead, as far as I know of it never touched ground. I figure hurricanes are scary too, since water is involved.
