It is NOT right that men have no reproductive rights. I mean to say its really one sided that reproductive rights are defined, so to speak, on wether or not women can abort, men cannot say no to abortion or choose abortion!
I do not agree with abortion.
The point here is not so much that she had the baby after the guy didnt want her to- the point is that there was a choice in the first place to exercise the right to bare and wear condoms and he decided not to. Now I know this is an unfortunate situation of unplanned and evidently miracle baby here BUT- things happen.
It truly pains me that so many people actually believe that there children are better off dead- and then there are some people who should never have kids and foster homes are packed with them!
The baby is a human being, part him, part her, but all itself- unique and precious, who could turn their back to such? If this man truly wants nothing of it he needs to surrender 100% of all his rights, 100% which includes the entire paternal family.
What is the family like? Maybe mom should contact paternal grand parents and discuss the situation? Perhaps tey can speak to their son?
On the other hand perhaps this is a blessing in disguise- she didnt believe she could have a child, she got pregnant, she does not have a guy- hmm, makes life a lot less complicated in terms of visitations, future children with a life partner, on and on not to have this guy hanging around making his claims ! Maybe she really ought to just terminate his rights on this very point. Yeah, thats what I would do- I would file a motion to terminate paternal rights and make my own way!
Nonetheless- we as a society need to teach our young to honor and respect life - beginning with themselves, so they can make responsible choices in their lives!
This obvious misjudgement on the doctors part reinforces my opinion that women's wellness truly depends on the woman herself- not just a doctor, we need midwives, nutritionists, our mothers, our sisters, and ourselves! We need to get to know our bodies, our cycles, our everything and hire practitioners as consultants. Get empowered girls!

The thing is, he had sex with her. She got pregnant. Ok, they made a baby. The baby exists. He cant change that. The only way he will get out of CS is if he and she have joint custody or if he isn't the childs father. He cant make her abort the child. It is her body. How would you feel if you were pregnant and you wanted the baby and the guy didn't. He took you to court and made you abort the baby. It would never happen because its a major violation of ones privacy. Yeah, it may not be fair for him because it is her body, but he should have thought about that before he had sex with her. He should have thought...what if I get her pregnant..then what. If guys assessed every girl they slept with..thinking...what if she get pregnant, then maybe there wouldn't be so many unexpected babies out there.
At this point, he has no choice. He cant make her abort it...whether is fair or not.

I do sympathise with the guy, because a woman can have an abortion when the guy wants to keep it. Happened to my brother in law. He wanted the baby but her rich daddy told her to chose, and she chose the trustfund. Sad thing is, he'll be a good dad someday. But, I don't think a woman should EVER be forced to have an abortion. EVER. It is still her body, and her choice, and people should think about these things before having sex. Good luck to both
Wow, I hear a lot of guy bashing. Why didn't anyone say "she should have been more careful"????

I think he made his choice when he had sex with you. Yes, the doctor said you could not get pregnant, but a doctor is not God he really can not guarantee what will happen. The man should be a man and do what he can to support you whether that be money or be there 100%. Good Luck!

The guy had a choice wether or not to have sex with her and not use protection, didn't he? If that's the case, he is responsible for helping create the baby.
Sounds to me like guy is selfish and lazy and better start saving some $$. College is very expensive these days. Just imagine what it's going to be 18 years from now. :)

good question!! but men do have a choice when it comes to NOT wanting children, and that is to cover their butts....so to speak. and as to wanting the child when the woman does not, that choice needs to be discussed way before the sex starts, agreed upon, and upheld. this needs to be done between a MAN and a WOMAN of consensual age, not a guy and a girl.

its the woman's choice because its her body!!! the guy might be the one that got her preg but it th girl's body and she can do what she want with HER body and since the guy got the girl preg he should still have to pay child support even if he doesn't want the baby that is almost the point of cs!!!

GUY is a sorry son of a bleep..and you should get all of his money....GIRL should have used some sort of birth control method..but hey this baby is a miracle and a blessing from god ..especially if the doc told the girl she couldnt get pregnant....
The GUY should have WRAPPED IT UP if he didnt want any kids.....and if he wants to COMPLAIN tell him to take it up to god and ask him why god didnt give the man a uterus so he could have "control" over his irresponsible ways.............
THE GUY IS A DEADBEAT.....JUST FORGET HIM AND RAISE YOUR MIRACLE BABY...OH YEA AND MAKE SURE YOU STAY ON TOP OF CHILD SUPPORT..THEY ARE REAL SLOW SOMETIMES......
best wishes to the GIRL..

He should have covered up anyway to protect himself from STDs.
Doctors are not always right about that. I was told I couldn't get pregnant and the evidence of his error is now down for his afternoon nap.
(in our case it was a good thing that he was wrong)

If he did not want to have kids, then he should have kept it in his pants! No one held a gun to his head and told him to have sex with the girl. . .
See, girls - like guys - lie. If he didn't want to reproduce, he shouldn't be doing the act. If you're gonna play, you're gonna pay, right??
