Most people inherently know the difference between right and wrong. Often, this is called, universal law. If a person respects herself and others and causes no harm, she is usually considered to be a good person. A belief in a god is not necessary in order to maintain a good, moral code. Buddhism is more concerned with ethical behavior than promoting a belief in a god.

There are no good or bad people. Good and bad are opinions... so... a person can't be judged as good or bad. We might disagree with a person's actions, but things aren't as black or white as that. Gods are many times created in the image of the people creating them and this is what leads to close-minded results.

The Bible tells us that "There is no one righteous, not even one." that means we are all bad, even me. If going to heaven were based on being good or bad then it would be a hopeless situation for everyone. Going to Heaven is based on having a relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior who made a way for us to enter into Heaven.

God has planted in the heart of every man a conscience. On that conscience is written the knowledge of right and wrong. God's moral standard for knowing the difference between right and wrong is called the 10 Commandments. Let's go through a few of them so you can know what I'm talking about.
Have you ever told a lie?
Have you ever stolen anything?
...ever used God's name in vain?
...ever hated someone before?
If i've lied, i'm a liar. Stealing makes me a thief. Using God's name flippantly is called blasphemy. And Jesus called hatred murder of the heart. Anyone who violates their own conscience, violates God's righteous moral standard and KNOWS that it is wrong. Anyone who keeps it, knows he is doing right.
God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness, according to this standard. No one will go to hell for never hearing about Jesus but for violating God's laws (thier sins). No thought of the heart goes undetected or unjudged by a holy God. If He judged you by this standard, would you be innocent or guilty? If guilty, should he send you to heaven or hell?
If hell, does this concern you? The Bible says that no liar, thief, murderer, or blasphemer will enter heaven, and that anyone whose name is not written in the book of Life will be hurled into a lake of burning sulfer. This is NOT God's will for you! Because of our lawlessness, he sent Jesus Christ to pay our fine. God clearly demonstrated His love for us in this, that while we were yet sinners (lawbreakers), Jesus Christ died for us. If you are guilty before God in you sins when you die, what should he do with you? Let you into heaven? That He CAN NOT DO! A just judge must punish lawbreakers. But God is not willing that any should perish, but that all would repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as thier Lord. He was tormented for your sins so that you wouldn't have to be in eternal hell. When we see our sins in light of the Laws that God has written on our conscience that we've all violated, judgment and hell becomes reasonable.
I hope to see you in heaven one day!

1jo 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
1jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
