You will have a white, thick, maybe even clumpy discharge. Sometimes there is a faint odor, but not always. You may have some burning, itching and swelling. If you've never had one before it's best to go to the dr. to make sure it's not something else. They are easily treated with a pill called Diflucan. Or you can use over the counter stuff like Monistat that you can get at Wal-Mart.

If it is your first time, go see your Dr. Symptoms of what people think are yeast infections can be many other conditions. Also, your Dr can give you meds to help move the cure along.

Yeast infections have a #1 symptom: crazy itching. However, don't scratch--it will make it worse. The other symptoms are red, swollen vulva and a cottage-cheese type discharge. However, I highly recommend seeing your Dr for a diagnosis--it just takes a few minutes to have her run the test.

She may suggest OTC Monistat or prescribe a presciption (stronger) cream, along with Diflucan (a tablet).

Usually your underwear will have a tinge like the yellowish color around this block for answering Yahoo Answers Questions. It can be lighter or more brown in color. There will also be a foul smell and damp skin and a oozing of fluid from the vaginina or the penis......yes, guys can get it too. Wash throughly the skin and rinse well, use plain yogurt and coat the skin with it. In between, use baby power to keep skin as dry as possible. I have heard( not sure if this is true ) that wearing tight under wear helps yeast infections. There are suppositories you can use (if you are female) to kill the infection as well).Oh, be careful as it can mask a urniary tract infection as well. Check with your doctor for that possiblility.

Itching, burning, clumpy white discharge, external discomfort around the vaginal area. Grab some Monistat 7 and if that doesn't work, go to the doctor. You may have a yeast that isn't cured by over the counter remedies, or you may have Bacterial Vaginosis.
