Hmm, you could start salsa/flamenco lessons. Through this you are likely to meet girls who like a laugh and like to enjoy themselves and try new things. However, said females may try to set you up with the male teacher, due to their assumption of your homosexuality.
Instead, you could get the blood pumping by joining a gym. The woman there are likely to be motivated and most likely they will enjoy taking care of themselves.
Other possible hobbies could be a new sport, like sailing or skiing.
However, the best option to me would be dog walking. Excellent for the lovely summer weather and you could also earn some money and get a tan. You can't say fairer than that. Also, you can pull off the caring guy bit, but to appear masculine think more German Shepherd than Shih-tzu!

Any kind of partner dancing. I used to go to a salsa class and there were lots of girls but not many boys. Once we had to stand in a circle and rotate so that we had a go dancing with different partners. You didn't need to be very good either in case you haven't done anything like that before.

Photography and dancing!!! Girls love a man that can dance and if you are looking to meet EXTREMELY hot girls...be a photographer who is interested in taking their pics.....you will have to actually be interested in photography to take good pics with a good camera though.
