Before I ask, know that I AM a Christian, which is why I ask this question.

I am appalled by the number of times I see Christians telling non Christians that they're "going to hell". How can you possibly be a Christian and NOT KNOW that that is completely NOT YOUR PLACE to say??? You don't know anyone else's heart nor what God has in store for them. When you are commanded not to judge-- this is SPECIFICALLY what is meant by judging. Pop culture would have you believe it's all about judging the behavior of others-- NOT SO. There's nothing wrong in telling someone they're doing wrong-- as I'm doing now. What IS wrong is to pretend you know their heart and judge its destiny. How dare you do this???

I know you atheists don't give a damn-- but it's our JOB to keep each other on the straight and narrow. Since anything goes for you guys-- guess it's not an issue-- huh?

Read again-- it's a serious question, albeit with rant qualities.

And I couldn't care less that you couldn't care less that someone tells you you're going to hell-- which is why I DIDN'T ask-- if you didn't notice.

Once again-- reading comprehension problems. Seems to me you're the one making and excuse to rant.

Explaining the consequences of sin and telling someone you know they are damned are TWO different things.

Silence your loud hypocritical mouth! First off-- I asked a very specific question-- I figured all the "????" would give it away for those of you who can't read-- guess I was wrong. Secondly-- it's nonsensical for you to condemn me for being judgmental in the same breathe your say we have right to judge. It disgusts me you call yourself a Christian speaking as you do.

Most of the Christian don't know the true value, meaning and responsibilities of Christians. They are not suppose to do that, but they are doing means they are lacking truth themselves. Because Bible commands every Christian to preach the Gospel and tell the truth. Bible did not command any Christian to tell that non-believers will go to hell. In Mathew 28: 18. 19, & 20; it command us to preach the Gospel and teach them good things about God. But instead people do the opposite means that they have lot to learn as a Christian. I think they are carnal Christian, because they don't know the WILL of God. Will of God is that no one should perish, but every one should be saved.
I think these type of Christian are not suppose to be called Christian. The meaning of Christian is very deep and being a Christian for name sake is really a dangerouse points. I think this type of Christian have to be given a careful counsel and teaching. They don't have a way of dealing with non-Christian.
I myself have found same thing happening around my palce. I heard that some one say Satan to non-believers, this is very bad manner. We are suppose to be witness and testimony to other.

I'm not christian, and hell or heaven is right here. I am responsible for my own behavior and responsible for helping leave this planet a bit better off than I found it. You may remain faith-based in your religion, and if it helps you, great. But most of the educate, thinking, bright people in America don't believe in the given authority of the bible, which isn't at all the word of anyone, but the history, (albiet a really distorted one) of a few things that happened in jewish history (old test.) and of a guy who walked around and had good "press"-- and that was changed repeatedly as scribes miscopied, and changed things. (new test.) Did you know that there is a gospel of st. Phillip??? It ain't in the bible.... why? inconvenient. And languages don't always get copied correctly. So, 'revealed truth' is as good or as bad as any other revealed truth, be it hindu, buddhist, muslim, or whatever.... each who is a fundamentalist in their religious beliefs has to believe in revealed truth, since none of it makes any sense---they have "faith---- and have to because it is all contrary to experience ... just like Santa is contrary to experience.... Oh, yes, and the King James bible??? a political necessity in England that it be reworked. Read what was going on in England, between it and Spain and France in the early 1600, when James I ruled.... Love it when these idiots know no history

There is only one Judge and I ain't him. Unfortunately this Q&A is filled with very young and naive children who have not been properly parented, and have no idea who Christ even is. I also can see how so many become furious after reading some of the questions posted here. I have to say, I try to answer my questions as Christ like as possible, but when some 13 year old Atheist wanna be, (Probably because of a dysfunctional family) writes a question and asks what Size Jesus' Penis was, or How many gays did he bang before he was crusified, I become VERY angry. Matter of fact, I have cried at their stupidity. I can usually manage to bypass such questions, but many can't.

I can ask you this. If you came upon a situation where a thug was beating the crap out of your child, whould you not step in and fight back to protect him? Jesus says to turn the other Cheek, but could you possibly stand there and watch your child be beaten to death?

I've been asking myself the same exact question. As a matter of fact, I was getting ready to ask a question like this when I got online just now.
It appalls me how people who say they are Christians and that they believe in God are so often telling others that they're going to Hell just because they don't believe in the same religion/follow the same rules as they do. I don't know about you, but I fully believe in 'separating church from state' and you have to, because there are so many different people living in the United States right now, and we all believe in different things. Who's to say my religion is better than yours, or that your religion is right and mine is wrong? That's not the Christian way. It seems ironic to me that country we're in a war with right now, we're becoming more and more like them everyday. Religious persecution seems the next step some people are trying to take. Did we forget that this country was founded by people trying to escape religious persecution? And now we are doing the same thing to others as was done to the people who founded this country? I'm not bashing America, I'm a proud American *MOST* of the time, but some of things some people do, some of the ways they have....I'm not about to judge anybody 'Judge not, lest ye be judged first", so that's not my game. I have faults just like everyone else. But what I say to some people is don't judge me by your laws, because again, who's to say your religion or what you believe in is better than what I believe in.

"Judge not lest you be judged. You therefore have no right to judge me when it comes to my sins!"

The world often takes this verse out of context and uses it to accuse Christians of being "judgmental" when they speak of sin. In the context of the verse Jesus is telling His disciples not to judge one another, something the Bible condemns (Romans 14:10; James 4:11). In Luke 6:41,42 He speaks of seeing a speck in a brother’s eye. In John 7:24 He said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." If someone steals, lies, commits adultery or murder, etc., the Christian can make a (righteous) moral judgment and say that the actions were morally wrong, and that these sins will have eternal consequences. Chuck Colson said, "True tolerance is not a total lack of judgment. It’s knowing what should be tolerated—and refusing to tolerate that which shouldn’t."

Jesus did indeed condemn some people for their sin. In Matthew 23 He called the religious leaders "hypocrites" seven times. He told them that they were "blind fools," children of hell, full of hypocrisy and sin. He climaxed His sermon by saying, "You serpents, you generation of vipers, how shall you escape the damnation of hell?" (v. 33). He then warned that He would say to the wicked, "Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41).

You are right about the fact that we are not to judge one another, Christian or not. The Scripture says, " Judge NOT lest ye be judged. For with what measure ye meet, it shall be measured unto you again." We must be careful in our witness when the question of right or wrong comes up. We have to simply tell the story and let God do the converting by His move on their heart and by our example. If we "shove" it down their throats as the perception of witness is, we alienate the very people God commissioned us to bring in! We show them IN THE WORD wherein their sins lie so that they can read and study for themselves why what they're doing is wrong. Another Scripture says, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling," so I tend not to interfere with others once I've laid out for someone the words written in the Book!

You are right, it is wrong to judge, but it is right to give wisdom to others so that they may walk in righteousness. If those people who call themselves christians judge, then they will face God's wrath upon their heads.

Let us remember something, sometimes christians have to be on fire and say things that may offend others, but the reaction must be the following. Is it for the glory of God or is it to glorify man. If the intention is to glorify God then it is a good thing. We all need some fire and brimstone in our lives and if we do not get it then we do not refine ourselves and run towards God.

you know not all Christians judge like that. no matter what catagory of Christian, you are in, you will always find someone who will judge people like that. For example, i belong to the Seventh-Day Adventist church, and I hear adults say exactly that.
The truth is, is that humans are selfish, and people will always be saying stuff like that. Our job is to make sure we don't say that, and we have every right ,when someone is telling diry
jokes, to say, " that ain't funny!!" But , when Christian are telling other people to "Go to hell" make sure you stand up for them the best that you can. Even though there will always be Christians like that, there will always be Christians to help the hurting, or cofort the sad, or just even to help each other out in the end time.

It's a human thing to judge. I haven't told anybody that they're going anywhere. I have noticed a high number of critical statements about Mormons and Muslims as well. Guess what? We're all children of God. Have a happy day!
