this just goes to show what our society has come to. It's a double standard. But really it isn't ok. it's not ok to to put ANYONE down for being something that cannot be changed. When a person is born, they are a certain color, they did not ask to be that way. People need to learn to let the past go is what i think. I DO believe that the urban society has brainwashed younger citizens into believing that it IS ok for black people to get away with calling people these things because it's all in the music, and white people tend to accept it. It IS crazy, i know. So, if white people can accept the music and the culture then white people should be able to accept being called a cracker. SHoot, the blacks have partially accepted being called "*******" ( no offense to anyone) They have even changed the word a little to n.i.gga. Why don't white people just start calling each other crackers more often, then maybe it won't bother us as much.

Its all about them having an excuse to clain desrimination. I dont care what you call me even if its an asshole. I just consider the source and dont worry about it. Its all about the claims of descrimination and where it can get them. They are black, *****, etc... I dont think that those are negative terms in the least. For the most part they tend to have less education than the white folk, andd therefore, they feel as though they need to get back at us somehow. I am not in the least a biget, but i do believe if you are gonna ask for what i have and try to live near me, you should have to do what i do to get there. I dont feel bad for you at all if you dont get an education, and you live like an animal, that goes for any race not just one.

The reasoning has always been (and I'm not saying it's right) because blacks have traditionally been the oppressed minority so it is unseemly to kick them when they're down-- so to speak. Picture a poor child running up and kicking a big fat guy-- it usually gets a laugh. Now picture the big guy kicking the oppressed poor child-- people gasp.

Your right. And black people have things like the United ***** College Fund. . .If we tried to do that we'd be racist. It's supposed to be equal rights here in America but it's not. Because they were enslaved so so so so so so many years ago we have to treat them even better. EQUAL people EQUAL. They have all this "Blacks only" stuff but if white people tried to do that they'd be raciest. For example BET.

It isn't okay for either one of us to use racial slurs....unfortunately, the rules have been set up so that if someone wants to start trouble with the other races, it can be done with a simple name calling game.
I think it is all BS and I don't think "black" should be considered a racial slur if I can use the word "white" to describe me on a legal document....

Who says it's okay to call anyone anything but their birth names? It is never "okay" to call a person of any color, race, nationality or religion anything other than their "proper" name...the one given to them at birth, chosen by their parents. To call a person anything else is between you and the person. For you to call me anything else is not acceptable, unless I give you permission to call me by another name...anything else is considered an insult. Especially the examples that you have given.
