My 1st year of college I was waiting for a bus with a classmate. Across the street was a few students and a sign that read 'Would Jesus go to the Strip' (a line of bars near campus), and there was a place to check yes or no. The guy next to me says "Hey man, you should go put 'yes' over there and piss them off." I thought it was rude and said "Nah, I wouldn't do that. Religious people don't bother me and I don't harrass them. Just because I don't believe in God doesn't give me the right to judge or harrass them." All of a sudden the guy turns holy roller on me. He starts calling me a satanist, and states that I am going to hell, etc. This guy, who moments before encouraged me to make fun of Christians, began harrassing me. I never got in his face and just let it go. Then at the end of class he came up to me and said "God must be mad at you now". I humored him & asked "Why?" He stated "those girls (and pointed) think that you are GAY" I laughed and said "Like I give a chit."

It's all about perception!

Your wording and formulation of this question suggest that you do your best to sound 'politically correct' but in the end I highly doubt if you'll be able to get the REAL answer you're looking for.

Good luck!

This guy does not represent the God of the Bible. He was a hypocrite. You must remember that just because a person names the name of God as "his God," does not make him a Christian, any more than being in a McDonalds makes you a Big Mac.

Hypocrites may show up at a church building every Sunday, but there are no hypocrites in the Church (Christ’s body). Hypocrite comes from the Greek word for "actor," or pretender. Hypocrisy is "the practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold."

The Church is made up of true believers; hypocrites are "pretenders" who sit among God’s people. God knows those who love Him, and the Bible warns that He will sort out the true converts from the false on the Day of Judgment. All hypocrites will end up in hell (Matthew 24:51).

Pretty typical if you ask me. But I don't see the question here. The only value people like you friend have is the value of their own feeble minds. You are on the right track, mind your own business, let the others mind their own.

Peace.

You're right, they don't bother me, I don't bother them.
But you could have marked yes. Jesus love the sinners....where else would he go to do God work. lol
As for your classmate should have said to him real loud."Why do they think I'm gay? Did you tell them we were going out you fag?"
That would shut him up.
