The key is, it's not supposed to work out the way YOU hoped. That's doing it for you, not for God. He doesn't always give me what I want, but He always gives me just exactly what I need. God Bless.

Yes I do, at first....then over time I see how the chain of events since that event unfolded, and I'm ususally awed by it.
For example: I'm helping to build a youth group at my church. I asked a local christian band to give a concert, and hoped some of the members of the church would stick around and enjoy the concert. Well, we had 9 teens, a few parents, and the core group (the youth directors).
As the days went on, though, I got feedback from the people that showed up, that they LOVED the band; my pastor loved them as well and is going forward with praise and worship events using this band; the teens are coming back and loved the music; my youth directors, who are new to ministry, found renewed commitment....the kids brought friends to the second event.....the list of positives just goes on and on. I'd have loved to have more than 9---hoped for 20---but the ones that showed are the ones that are supposed to be there.
After looking at it from a distance, one of the girls mother was just floored by the whole thing, and is starting to get excited about her faith probably for the first time. I believe that these things happen for certain people for certain reasons, and the need to hear something or see something can never be predicted.
If we just do it, and trust that the results are in God's plan, there's nothing to worry about.

why would you try to do something for the creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them?
He does for you, not you for Him.
Where have you ever heard of the sheep helping the Shepard?
You never have.
You see there are two ways of looking at it.
The world view-you helping Him.
The God view- He helping you. He being supreme, you being His creation. He having everything, you needing everything.
What then shall we do?
Ask and receive. Give thanks for His loving kindness and His help in times of adversity.
Seek His help daily.
Pray for yourself and for others.
There are religious teachings that will put you on the works program. In doing this it will take you away from accepting God's Grace--unmerited favor and mercy. The true work is faith-to continue to believe. And even this faith you have is a gift from Him-- Eph. 2:8
He GIVES and you receive.
Otherwise you are on the religious works program always trying to give God something He doesn't want or need.
You yourself can not have anything unless it is given to you by Him.
john 3:27
So I don't wonder why if you try to something for Him, it doesn't work out.
Hope that this was helpful. OLAY!

I always feel down when something doesn't turn out what I hoped for when I try to help God. I tried to pray everyday to God but I am to busy to pray. So I always have an idea. So my advice to you is don't give up. It might turn out right but God will always be there and try to help you out.

Make sure you ask for His help, and let Him do His work through you. If it doesn't work out the way you expect, don't worry. God knows your heart!
Our church's message board recently read "If God is your co-pilot, switch seats." The adage has probably been around a while, but it was new to me, and it's certainly true!

Sometimes people try to make deals with God: "Oh, if you let me do this thing, or have this thing, I will glorify your name in this way, and that way." That seems to indicate ulterior motives on the part of the deal maker. If what you tried to do "for God" didn't turn out just right (for you), maybe your real reason and purpose was not pure.

When you "do something for God" it's just works religion, and He will show you that. If you love God and do something in response to that love, something that He has told you to do (in the Bible or personally), you have a better chance.

Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor
in vain. Psalm 127:1
We are just building our lives on sand if we try to do things apart from the Lord. If we are following His will for our lives, then all will fall into place. He is not a Heavenly puppeteer, but He wants us to draw close to Him in prayer as a child leans on their father here on earth for guidance. God only wants what is best for you. A lot of times we are like young children who think we know what we want, but our parents may not allow it becasue they know what is best for us. His ways are higher than our ways, and even tho it is not what you thought the answer should be, it may very well be what He thinks is best for you. :)

The only thing that you can do for God is praise and worship him. He will always receive it no matter how you feel about the quality of the result. How you feel about it is not important. what is important is that he receives it in love. Jesus loves you.

You have to open your heart to what God wants you to do. If you trust God, the result won't be what you want, but what he wants. Resulting in what God wants is much greater than any result you could ever imagine.
