your social security cannot be garnished for bills except for government loans and child support as far as I know. I too am on social security and have no problem with people trying to collect from me. What will they get in the end? Nothing, I have nothing for them to get. I just have a bad rating with rating company. Oh well I can't pay them if I don't have it and they are sure not gonna come take back my new teeth etc.

what you have too do is bring the court your income verfication and bring any outstanding debts, car payments, rent, mortgage, etc. If you have a mortgage they will probably put a lien towards your house, you dont want that. What you must do is prove to the courts that your living on a fixed income. The judge will probably have you and the defendant go to mediation, the mediator will go over your case with you and determine the amount payable, this amount has to be agreed upon by both you and the plaintiff. Just remember all in all you were given the credit card so therefore its responsibility to pay these creditors back. Contact the court and they be happy to advise you with the process. I hope that was helpful. Good Luck

Wells Fargo could probably put a lean on your income, though it would be small.

So why do you spend money you don't have???

It depends on what state you are in. Contact your state Attorney Generals office, they should be able to help.
