With so many people worried about sports and games and getting more "points" than others, I am wondering how many points it takes to achieve enlightenment? Or maybe it doesn't take points--maybe it takes dollars? I am convinced that getting the most points on Yahoo! Answers will enable me to achieve ultimate happiness. I heard about this guy named Jesus who said that you can get to heaven for free, but that doesn't seem very American to me... A true patriot knows that it takes lots of money and points and votes to get saved! If only enough people voted for me, I could be the next American Idol. That is surely the meaning of life. Millions of people can't be wrong, can they? If getting points weren't important, how come so many people spend so much time playing and watching sports?

I know it's a kinda weird question, but I didn't see "get to heaven" listed as a reward in the help section, so I was wondering maybe if it's the special "be the first to find out" award listed for those who get 25000+ points?

It all varies actually. there are different levels of heaven for people obtaining different amounts of points. There is a special area. a hall of small, whitewashed cells with a constant burning blacklight for those who never took the time to even set-up a yahoo account. To reach the highest point of heaven, the level where you actually meet God and get to throw lightning bolts at people form above, is roughly 150,000. For the lowest tier of heaven, where you get a free iPod nano, is roughly 1000. It all depends on how well you answer questions too. That's the miraculous thing baout it, no one really knows for sure. You just have to believe in your heart that what you're doing is the right hting; it's called faith. See you in heaven!

God placed His own Son here to spill His blood so that you may be reconcilled to God. There are no points, you are saved by grace.
Without Jesus, we would never be able to go to heaven. There is no possible way we could experience God's great power (The Holy Spirit) if God never laid down His Son.
If everything is based upon points then everyone will lose. Nobody will be going to heaven.
Remember this - The pathway to heaven is narrow and very few people will make it in. While the pathway to hell is wide and the gates are wide open to accept anyone who wants to go in.

to get to heaven one must repent there sins to the
Lord & believe that Jesus is their savior
Jesus did what had to be done, he took the
penality of our sins when he died on the cross so
no matter what good things we do we won't get into
heaven w/ out believing in him
the way to the father(God) is through Jesus
read John 14 verses 6& 7 in the bible to see this

it doesn't take point to get to heaven,only jesus is the way to heaven u need to trust God,obey Him,worship Him and adore Him and also win souls for him .
