Fish badly prepared or left sitting too long after cooking tastes awful. Sometimes, when you have a bad early experience with a type of food, you don't want to try it again. however you are now reaching an age when you are getting ready to leave home and have adult experiences, so it may be time to work at getting over your hatred of fish. You may find yourself someday at a dinner where fish is served and you need to be polite and eat it. And really, fish is not that bad and it's actually good for you. You might want to start to overcome your repugnance. Here's a suggestion to start. Get some frozen fish sticks, the kind covered with bread. (Get a decent name brand, not the cheapest ones.) Bake them in the oven so they are nice and crispy, then eat a couple. Because of the ratio of breading to fish, you will barely taste the fish, which anyway is a really mild fish. You probably wil find the taste pleasant. (In fact, my youngest daughter was quite shocked when she learned that fish sticks were made with fish and not chicken. For some reason, she thought that the name fish sticks referred to the shape, not the content!) Once you get past your initial phobia, you might ask recommendations for a good local seafood restaurant and try a well-prepared fish dish. Stick with mild fish at first: flounder or tilapia filets are a good bet. These do not have a strong taste or small, so you mostly taste the spices and sauce. Another good bet are crabcakes, especially if you get them in Maryland. Avoid anything like whole fish (heads, yuck!) or salmon or tuna filets (strong taste) until you are feeling much more adventurous.
My oldest daughter was very limited in what she would eat when she went off to college at age 18. Three years later, she has become a much more adventurous eater, willing to try almost anything. You are at a good point in your life to begin letting your taste buds grow up and to stop letting your inner child dictate what you can eat. Good luck and enjoy! Bon appetit!

i am the same way. for the first time in about 20 years (im 25) I had a piece of fish the other day. Try a mild, flaky fish like a grouper, swordfish, or Mahi. These don't have that fishy nastiness to them.

try a milder fish to eat like batter fried haddock. Fish is so good for you.
Also maybe try to mix a can of good red salmon with mashed potatoes & chooped green onions. Form patties & fry in a little oil "til lightly browned both sides. I make these & put hot creamed peas on top.........so yummy (Creamed peas = peas & mushroom soup diluted with 1/2 the milk)

Cause it tastes like crap I've hated seafood all my life!
Now if it's a thing where you liked it 'til you were 4, I did the same thing with pickles.
