We are under new covenant now. These were Jewish laws.

But of course that is a good excuse not to have sex with your husband. If you feel bloated and uncomfortable a week before and after, and then during your period...sex life is limited to only couple of days a month, of course if you happened to be in mood

What's your point, Jim?

Maybe if you had been a Jew of the nation of Israel at the time, the prohibition would not have seemed so silly to you.

(Example: How many of the "laws" of the United States would look absurd to people 2000+ years from now?)

Take Leviticus for what it is, rather than judging it for something it isn't.

The Bible is simply warning you. If you do have sexual relations with a women during her monthly period she is more likely to becoming pregnant than any other time. Other sources say that the week before the minstrel the women is most fertile. So listen to the warning. The bible may sound crazy, but it is still old and with time comes wisdom.

Makes sense to me. It is safer for a man to just stay away from us then. I definitely don't like to be bothered then. That is just gross to even think of. That's probably why even the native Americans had menstrual huts. I bet those women started the idea of a week in the hut. Vacation!

There's LOTS of silly stuff in there, because it was written as a code for living for the Jewish people thousands of years ago. A lot of it no longer applies.

Why do you think this passage of scripture is silly? Just because we do not understand everything that GOD decrees with our finite minds, does not make that which GOD declared silly...

This is a health law. It is NOT silly. Don't have sex with a woman that is on her period. This is the time when it easier to get a transmitted disease. It is just common sense.

back then, women didn't have the options for "flo-control" as they do now. Women had to deal with it going down their legs and gross stuff like that. If you got near them, you risked becoming ill or dirty (stained) they had to go off by themselves and bathe all day. Its an old practice. Obviously doesn't apply to our ...period... in time.
