I ask this to see if people really know God or just believe that He is. Just looking for responses.
There is a difference. Do you believe in Him to the total dependency on Him or do you accept for what you read about Him?

You know, I once read somewhere (but can't remember now just where) that the longest distance on this earth is the distance from ones head to ones heart. That is such profound truth. I would say that knowing about God is like the baby steps we all take as we learn to walk. Then as we grow and mature spiritually, God reveals Himself to our hearts and we begin to truly know Him. I have a total dependence on God and every pan I scrub or dish I wash, every word I utter and every step I take , I do it with complete dependence on God and His life within me. I try to live my life with a prayer of Love in everything I do. I find as I go from day to day, that God shows me more and more of Himself as I grow stronger in faith, love and trust. Now with that said, I need to also add that I am a sinner and fall often but God is always there to pick me up, brush me off and set me back on His path. I trust in Him always, even when I fail, I know He is there to forgive me. We can all choose to leave God, but God will never leave us. We humans are incapable of perfect and unconditional love but God is not.

Do i believe in him...YES. Do i know him i think to some extent we do. We know how merciful, wonderful, and what a loving father he really is. To show so much mercy, and compassion to us even when we repeatedly let him down. For many that don't believe in what they don't see it's like Love or Air...you don't ever see these things but you feel them therefore you know they exist and that they live within and around you. I think that everything is in God's hands and he has a plan for each and every single one of us. Although sometimes were too stubborn headed to accept and see what he's done he's always there. I am in awe from everything that I've been taught and learned about him and i can only look forward to one day meeting him.

Nobody knows if there is a God. Some people like to believe in a God, because they are ill-fitted to handle life on their own.

Yes, i believe in Him, but im still not sure what is he like. But i have a feeling of connection with him. I dont accept everything i read about him. I was not raised as a christian, so i guess im more open-minded.
