Try Citricel, a soluable fiber that you add to a glass of water twice per day. This regimen should keep you regular. Also, exercise helps to keep things moving. If you have a chronic problem, you should see your doctor as your symptoms could be caused by something else.

Prune juice and hot coffee , then slowly walk up and down a short flight of steps, or walk up three steps and back down. It will help work the juice and coffee around in your intestine and soften up the stool. While in the bathroom, remember DO NOT STRAIN....YOU WILL GET A HERNIA(s) FROM STRAINING. But as you are trying to relieve yourself, try leaning forward and pushing a bit (that means gentle straining, ) then lean to the left and push again. repeat to the right and then lean back and push. Repeat this a couple of times then rest and try again. If nothing happens, finsh up, drink some more hot coffee and prune juice. Be sure to drink the prune juice first. It is drunk cold or room temp and the coffee hot. Eating a lot of cheese will cause constipation. It is the worst thing to cause it. Eating lots of chocolate can cause it as well. Eat oily fish. like salmon at least once a week. Make it up as a salad of sorts. All you need is to clean the black skin off, remove bones if you don't like them. Then break up the flesh and add about a tablespoon of your favorite mayo or miracle whip and mix into the fish. You can add peas if you wish or sweet pickle relish to suit your taste. Serve on crackers, bed of lettuce, place in pitas' or make sandwiches of it...you can just eat it as is with out the crackers, lettuce,or bread as well. When you make burgers add some oil to the meat as well, somtimes eating to much meat can cause this problem. Make sure you eat veggies as well. Carrots, peas, corn, squash and the like with you meats. If you like to eat a lot of cheese, then add things to it. Make a banana, or tomato, or peanutbutter sandwich and put cheese on it. You can eat as is or grill the sandwich. Just don't over do the cheese please. Hope this will help you out....now and next time as well.

Get your 24grams of fiber needed. Having a cup of All Bran a day will provide you with this. Also, if you haven't had a lot of fiber that day, try to stear clear of dairy product. This doesn't mean stop eating/drinking them all together because you do need your three glasses of milk daily. Also a little exercise (i.e. going for a walk, go biking) will help things get moving.

Drink more water and eat more fiber or fiber supplement.
In exercise science class, I learned we should drink one half our body weight in oz.s of water. Eg., 100 pounds = 50 oz.s water per day. That's just water. Other types of drinks are an addition.

drink plent of liquids, stay active, do not ignore the urge to go, avoid constipating foods, and have your colo-rectal test done yearly.
try to avoid laxative use (or similar) because the body gets used to that and then slows down because you forgot the daily enema

Add fiber to your diet ... whole grain bread or more fruits & vegetables.

Also, drink water ... lots of it. Get a one-liter bottle, and keep taking sips ... you should finish one bottle in the morning, then refill it and finish another bottle in the afternoon.
