The preferred music to play to the unborn child is classical. The reason behind this is that the rhythms bring soothing vibrations to the baby and develop a graceful spirit before the child is born. This is not to say that it is feminine or masculine, but it is the recommended choice of the medical professionals. Confirm this with your ob/gyn and a delivery nurse and you will be pleased, as well as the child.

The two best things to play are classical music and the CDs that say the child's name in songs and stories

A variety of music, including world music. Celtic is such a nice sound!
Find out what your baby likes by keeping some notes as to his or her activity/relaxation with different music too- that way, should your baby be breech or otherwise in a tough position around your estimated birth-day you can use the music to "lure" her or him to a more desirable position.
Also, go with your own mood too- all music is good for us if it feels good to us- the beats and rythm are essential, the words and melodies are stories, from load intrusive noise to soft meloncholy its all good! Go with what you love and let the music speak to you and your baby.
Don't forget to consider music a valuable tool for your birth giving too- some nice soft "wavey" music might be nice, or lullabyes, or women's music, or some deep rock, celtic folk, whatever it is- let it move your labor rythm in sways and dances-
Music stimulates your hormonal response ( ever cry with a sad song, or feel romantic from sensuous Jazz?) Listening to the right music for you can have its benefits in labor- and, while speaking of benefits- consider hiring a doula!!!!!

i don't think of that professional-determination or professional-existence desires to aspect into this question. If someone has desirous to carry a being pregnant to time period, they ought to favor what's desirable for the baby inspite of what options they gave themselves permission to have earlier the theory of the baby. I actually have genuinely analyze and considered various technological awareness-depending television courses that talk why someone might want to no longer deliberately disclose an unborn baby to music. It genuinely hurts their potential to take heed to issues extra obviously later in existence. there is already sufficient noise and publicity to music round them with out it wanting to be blasted into the moms abdomen. i imagine this is purely been in the previous few a lengthy time period that human beings concept this to also be an option. publicity to music isn't needed and does no longer help the baby in any respect.

Beautiful classical music and opera! Once born, your child will be subjected to all the pop music, etc. so why not instill really fine quality music in your child's memory bank while you have the chance.

Lullabyes. Deniece Williams, Michael Card, and, I think, Twila Paris all have excellent lullabye CDs. Also instrumental "smooth jazz". Actually anything quiet and relaxing to you the mother. The music works on you. If you are relaxed, the baby is relaxed.

It doesnt matter, just as long as you play it for him/her. They dont understand the words, just hears the "musical" part of it all. Keep it low of course, not blarring out loud. Also, suggestion!==Read to your unborn child also. The sound of your voice is he/she needs::)
