My husband and I are going to renew our wedding vows next year. But we are not sure about when we are suppose to do it. Does it have to be on the same day as the first time or can it be a different day? The day we got married, falls on a Wednesday next year. We don't really want it to be during the week. Alot of people won't be able to attend.

I don't think there are set rules for this. You can renew your vows at any time you choose. A lot of people do it on the anniversary of their wedding because of the symbolism of the act, but doing it on the same week of the anniversary should be just as symbolic, I think. Do it on that weekend, or any other time that's convenient. Just like you chose an original wedding date for certain reasons, I'd think you choose a date for the renewal in he same way.

You can renew your vows on any date. Some people choose their anniversary but as you say, a week day is usually not real convenient. I think the key is that you care enough to want other people involved just like you did the first time around so making the date convenient for that is just as important this time as it was the first time.

While it is tradition that the vow renewal is on the same date as the wedding it is not "set in stone". Many people use other dates for vow renewals.

Have it whenever you want it to be. Remember, it's your day to celebrate the renewal of your wedding vows. So what if it's not on your actual anniversary. Have fun planning your ceremony!!

You really should renew them the Saturday before your anniversary so there will be no lapse in time from when your vows were newed and renewed.

Re-newing your vows can be a lot like your wedding was (not as stressful) you can have it when you want (typically around the day) you can have it where you want.
You can have a really small renewal or a large renewal. You can be as creative as you want.

for a renewal of vows you have a ton of freedom since it is not ruled by tradition as much as a wedding. have fun with it and do what works for you and your guests - dont worry about the day. its all about celebration and love.
