Ok, actually I don't believe they constitute a violent religion. I really, honestly wanted people's opinions on this.

The Koran or whatever is a Muslim equivalent to a bible can be interpreted in so many ways that some may believe it promotes violence others may not.

Of course!
A large percentage of Christians think so.
But one must understand the underlying reasons.
Religion is no different than a company that deals in fish and one that deals in meat. Both are in competition with each other.
Each motive is to gain a part of the other persons customers.
Both sides will attempt to persuade these potential customers by stressing the good reasons for consumption and the bad reasons why you shouldn't consume the competitors product.
The three major religions have always been doing this.
Unfortunately Islam is suffering from worldwide condemnation because of a few,by comparison, for heinous crimes perpetrated against Humanity by a few Muslims.
I won't even attempt to go into the crimes against the Muslims during the "Crusades."
Anyway, its all a game played over and over and the poor sheeple
keep looking for the pea under the shell, and never win because the con man (religion) is very adept in his craft.

No, Islam is the youngest and most peaceful of the three monotheistic religions.
Simply put, Muslims get a bad rap because of the extremists that fly planes into buildings and blow themselves up in nightclubs.
But, other religions have their extremists (the Crusades - Catholics killing in the name of God, Palenstine - Jews are killing hundreds of Palenstians indirectly each day) and they do not get harrassed.
Why?
They aren't affecting the wonderful U.S.A.
There is no relation to violence with Islam and don't think that and become another one of the judegmental people in this world. We don't need that.

The muslim faith promotes violence because of all of the wrong things that have been done to them in the past.
If the U.S. wouldn't have stepped in countless times throughout history to flex their guns to show who is boss, then the muslims would have no problem with us.
Why can't we just let them live their lives and not interfere with them.
With the number of times that we have stepped into their issues and killed their people, how can we even begin to get upset with them for coming on to our soil and doing the same thing.
I am in no way condoning what they have done to our country, all I am saying is who can blame them for what they have done when we have been doing the same thing to them for years and years and years.
I think that anyone who hates muslims needs to take a good look at the way they lead their lives and what they support.

Islam is not violent, but it is under enormous attacks by Israel and America from out side, and dictators from inside, so Muslims are very weak and helpless, and some try to take revenge for the killing of their beloved ones, or the destruction of their belongings, and here the media bias and contribution in exaggerating this counter violence while ignoring the causes of it and the hostilities against Muslims. Watch what is going in Gaza and Iraq and be fair.

Insecurity is covered by faith, faith promotes ignorance, insecurity promotes violence. People choose violence.
People, afraid to die, pick a belief that tells them they have life. They fight and die or kill to support their belief and hence bring about the truth to their fear in the first place.
The only non violent faith is one which isn't had by man... That and Buddhism.
That said, the Muslim faith is as equal and as guilty as the rest. No one can say that Christians haven't killed in the name of Christ. Nor Jews in the name of God. People kill, religion gives them a place to vent and cover up their ugliness.

Having studied the Quran/Koran for a great deal of my life, I assure you the Moslom/Muslim faith is in fact a cult of hate and violence.
The book, the quran teaches hate and violence, and is nothing more than a twisted version of the true Holy Bible.
There may be muslims living in America who claim their faith is one of peace, that is incorrect, they simply are not practicing their faith correctly according to their holy koran/quran.

What promotes violence is ignorance and stupidness, and obviusly the money. The war in Irak is for the petroleum that USA want to steal from Irak people.

i don't think the faith promotes violence, i believe people do. and why single out Muslims? what about the Crusades?

I don't. I'm not a muslim, and I believe there is absolutely no wrong in Islam. Violence comes from ourselves as imperfect human beings.
