yes, i regret so much now that ive lost loved ones in my life. i wish i understood how short their life was to be and made more effort with them. its too late now, but if we continue living with the theory that we will die soon, then we will appreciate life more and live each day as if its the last.

The problem is, many of us don't realise how precious life is: until such time as it is taken away from someone we love: or we ourselves are reminded by comming close to loosing it!!

We all should live each day as if it were our last: As God knows better than us, it could be!! The life we lead is no dress rehearsal: it's the main show, and we should live it to the full each and everyday!!

Life is a precious gift: we should live it and use it well, to the benefit of ourselves and others: in Love!!

Strange question! We all have an 'idea' of how precious life can be but we all choose to interpret the meaning differently. Also - are we asking how precious 'any' life is or just our own? After all - all life is precious - I believe it is this that people tend to over look.
So to give an answer of some sort - do people look at their own lives (and the lives of loved ones) as being precious? Yes - I think they do. But so many people are taken up with their own lives and their own 'worlds of reality' they forget that the lives of everyone are as equally precious as their own.

For a start, how precious is life? For most of us it is very precious enough for us to want to keep it while for others it is just something to slog through until they reach the end. Is life all that great when it gives you nothing but pain and misery?

In the end life is what you can make of it.

Most of us take things for granted and until something major happens to us like the loss of a loved one - we plod along not taking things too seriously. I think that this is a big mistake you only have one life and that one life is too short and we should be living life to the full and taking and living each day as if it's our last because it will be one day.

As I'm getting older I realise this and have decided to live my life as fully as i can and try to find out what I'm capable of and push himself each day to see how successful I can be. I appreciate how lucky I am that I have choices - a lot of people do not and I'm so grateful.

We are all here for a reason and I want to be a really worthwhile contributor.

Life alone is not precious. The quality of life is. Perhaps someday humans will evolve to a higher level. A lot of them are more like animals.

For the most part, I think that I already do. I consciously try to enjoy every moment that I can. Sometimes even the bad stuff. Life is life and I am here to learn everything that I can from it and make the best of it.

yes, it is so true. 10 yrs ago i was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. After I underwent surgery and got better i realized that every day should be lived with gusto. Every day is special, and I try to transmit this feeling to my loved ones. for example, yesterday I was driving back home from the beach with my children and the sun was setting behind the mountains. i began to comment on the beautiful color and patterns in the sky, i put a really nice CD and as we listened to the music we watched the celestial spectacle with awe and wonder.

Sadly enough, I believe that the majority of people are too lazy for the type of introspection you suggest in order to lead a more fulfilling life. The popularity of "American Idol" proves it to me.

As I get older, I realise how short life is and how you should really make the most out of it. However, that doesn't stop me working too many hours and not really fulfilling my full potential!!!
