you should probably drink less Gatorade (lots of sugar in it) but your teeth will be stronger and you will have more energy since you don't rely on outside sugar for energy, and you will not get a gut, providing you do not start drinking beer.

Pop has NO nutritional benefit. Stay away from it. Gatorade is not as sweet as pop and has some salt in it. Better you should drink plain water. You probably get all the nutrients you need from the food you consume. If you would like to learn more I just read a very good book called "What to Eat" by Marion Nestle. She gives a very clear explanation of the pros and cons of sports drinks.

I don't drink pop either.. I always drink water (and milk and OJ for calcium and vitamin C of course)..From doing so, there are many benefits.. For starters, (if you drink pop) by stopping there's a chance you will lose wait because pop is FULL of sugar. Also, by not drinking pop, you reduce the risks of getting ulcers and/or sore stomachs from all the acid in pop, you don't get that ucky feeling on your teeth that Pepsi and some other pops leave, you won't stain your teeth (from the dye in dark pop), you won't have bad breath, and then list goes on. Oh and one more thing, a lot of pop has aspartame in it (mostly diet pops) and too much aspartame can cause serious health problems. So I say congrats on not drinking pop a lot.. because of that, you are much much healthier! *thumbs up*

I don't drink it that often either. It makes your stomach feel better, and pop doesn't energize you - water and gatorade do. Pop will only give you a sugar high and you'll have energy for a couple hours, but those are always followed with sugar /lows/.

good for u!!! keep drinking the gatorade. most of us that drink pop think the only benefits would be staying awake with the caffeinated drinks. otherwise there are mostly downfalls like being dehydrated and weight gain with the leaded (non-diet) kind of pop. anyway, it's good that you don't dig it.

its great that you are trying to steer clear from such sugary drinks, because those are so bad for you. There are no benefits to drinking soda, so congrats with being more healthy. I wish more could do the same. And besides that, while everyone has more chances with diabetes, obesity, and other multiple health problems, you can enjoy knowing that you are healthy.

I do the same thing... I am fit, lit, and I damn sure ain't drinking that s*it!!!
It dehydrates your body tremendously,,, also, thirst is a mild form of dehydration and drinking pop doesn't solve the problem.... it worsens it.
Also the chemicals in soda, esp.... caffeine are really addicting.. I know people who drink coke so much that when they don't they don't, they get splitting headaches.... AWFUL!!! They aren't in the best shape either... Coke Belly.

Soda is all artificial and loaded with sugar. Gatorade is not that great either. Water is best and then natural juices.

The main benefit I can think of is that you can be snooty when your friends drink it, tell them about sugar and then smile at them with brilliantly white teeth. Oh and if you're keen on your teeth, there's loads of money to be made in dentistry. I'm not kidding. Okay I am kidding, but not about the money.
