I can't stop eating chocolates. I always have a bar or two everyday. I know it is unhealthy, but I can't stop having one.

A chocolate addict is known as chocoholic - you know like alcoholic.

But the good news is that dark chocolate can be healthy for you, if you take a small amount each day.

I even read somewhere (I wish I remembered where, but I can't find it) that even milk chocolate has some health benefits - this is really new news.

I think you know that chocolate has a special ingredient that helps put you in a good mood - now isn't it good to be put in a good mood in a natural way?

As one chocoholic to another, you don't need to stop eating chocolate completely - you just need to eat smaller amounts. Also, if you keep chocolate in your home, try not buying large amounts. For example buy 1 bar for the week. Perhaps you can drink hot chocolate also - that may be less fattening too.

The main rule is everything in moderation (my Dad used to say so and you remember Father Knows Best - well, it's true).

Good luck and don't give up your chocolate - you deserve the pleasure of eating chocolate (just make it part of a sensible, healthy food plan).

Of course there is!!! You are one and so am I. If you are a normal; weight and lead an otherwise healthy lifestyle why worry. It's less harmful than drugs or alcohol. If you have a weight problem don't diet but make small sensible changes to your eating, like semi skilled milk instead of full fat, excercise more and keep a diary to find out the triggers for over eating. But do not attempt to give up chocolate that is unrealistic. A little of what you fancy does not hurt.
I am currently trying out vanilla patches, you can get them at the chemist, sniff them when you feel like a chocolate bar and the craving is reduced (or so they say).
Good Luck

There is 25 mg of caffeine in one one ounce of bitter chocolate. That can certainly cause chocolate- caffeine dependance if you eat two bars of chocolates every day. And make you addict in the long run.

yes, there is. you can become addicted to anything. Ive read an article about chocoholics, its not a serious problem, but can cause some health problems such as damaged teeth or overweight. However, if you eat also something else, such as fruit, vegetables and diary products, its ok :-))

Chocolate Addicts like the way chocolate makes them feel. It releases chemicals in the brain that sedate you. You can stop this by: Finding something else to sedate you, or figuring out why you crave this feeling.

Chocolate has something in it that makes you feel better if you're sad or something. I don't know what it's called but it's there.
