Don't brush it too much, keep it out of a pony tail (use hair clips instead), use prenatal vitamins, use Garnier Fructis Length and strength or Main and Tail, and before you brush your hair add a leave-in condotioner and start from the bottom and work your way up. It takes a while to grow hair but if you treat you hair like a fine lace it should grow out in no time. Do not use chemicals and even skip washing you hair every once and a while (if your hair looks oily then add a little baby powder to your hair. Not only does it dry up the oil but it will add a little volume to it). I use to have a very hard time growing my hair out and now I have a hard time keeping it from growing.

I don't know what you mean by "fast" but you could trim your hair every 2 months. This trims off the dead ends but gives it time for re-growth. It's taken me almost 3 years to get my hair down to my waist. My sister, can grow her hair long in just one summer, so it really doesn't matter what you do sometimes. Genes play the biggest role in how fast your hair grows! Mine, unfortunatly grows extremely slow. I get mine trimmed every two months though, like i said and that REALLY HELPS and you will notice a big difference.

The best thing to do is take vitamins, keep it clean and as soon as it is long enough put it in a ponytail as much as possible. I have been doing all of these things for years and my hair grows an average of 6 inches every year.

Hair is going to grow at its natural rate, about 1/2 inch a month. How you take care of that growth makes the difference.
Scalp massages with rosemary oil (stimulates the scalp, gets the blood flowing), prenatal vitamins, biotin, healthy diet, calcium, and lots of water help maintain healthy growth.
Little to no heat styling, brushing and combing only when necessary. No playing with it or twisting ithe ehnds around your finger. Watch the collars of your shirt, they may rub at your nape and irritate the hair.

Use a supplement called MSM (found at GNC), or use the vitamins called "Women's Hair, Skin and Nails Formula", also found at GNC for $10.
Other things that help your hair grow are leafy, dark green vegetables, drinking lots of water, and exercising. Minimizing harsh treatment and manipulation of the hair, such as perms, extensions, pulling/tension on the hair significantly helps. I've noticed tremendous improvement in the health and growth of my hair when I don't manipulate and chemically treat it.
